Russell is a developing frontcourt prospect with encouraging physical tools. A big man who moves well for his size, he shows good mobility and coordination that allow him to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Offensively, Russell has displayed soft touch around the rim and is capable of finishing plays in the paint with either hand. As he continues to gain experience and confidence, his overall offensive skill set is beginning to emerge. Adding physical strength will be an important part of his development, as it should help him become more effective as a rebounder, interior scorer, and defender against stronger competition.

Russell is a developing center who moves well for his size and continues to add physical strength. He shows touch around the rim as a finisher, rebounds his area, and impacts the game defensively by altering shots in the lane. With continued physical and skill development, he has promising upside in the frontcourt.

Showed off his sneaky athleticism this weekend in Richmond. This “slender-framed” big man runs the floor well and possesses an innate ability to block and change shots. Daniel is dangerous when running in transition and gets off the floor and above the rim quickly. He is still developing and rounding out his overall offensive skill set, but the combination of his ability to screen and roll, run the floor, block shots, and make plays off of rebounds makes him very intriguing to college coaches of all levels.
