Another day of DMV Live is in the books, which means there are a bunch of angles that you can come up with from over 12 hours of basketball. Below are four headlines that stuck out to me.

O'Connell's backcourt puts on a show

2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2353544' first='Corey' last='Dixon'] returned to the floor for the first time in two months as he's nursed a couple of injuries and he exploded for arguably the performance of the day as O'Connell annihilated St. James 86-52. The 6'2" combo guard scored 31PTS on 11-of-17 from the field and 6-of-9 from deep. Not only was he hitting demoralizing pull-ups off the bounce, he was disruptive in the passing lanes as indicated by his six steals and made the right reads to tally four assists.

Alongside Dixon is 2028 Eli McQueen, who could be one of the biggest stock-risers of the event thus far. He's lifting his recruitment into the high-major disucssion and this performance was another example with a stacked stat line of 19PTS, 8ASTS, 7REBS and 2STLS. The 16-year-old brings a mature approach as the lead guard as he can control the pace, use counters to create space for playmaking opportunities and is a willing passer on drives.

I highlighted him yesterday, but 2028 Connor Culley put on another shooting clinic with efficiency. He's a name that should absolutely see an uptick in his phone activity over the next week. He followed Dixon with 21PTS of his own, going 4-of-7 from three.

Potomac is primed to make a run in the MAC this season

In a conference that has been dominated by Sidwell Friends over the years, Potomac School has a group that could absolutely compete for this year's title. Head coach Jeremy Myers has assembled a roster equipped with strong point guard play, dependable shot-makers on the win an offensive hub in a new impact transfer as well as a frontline that features size and IQ.

It starts with 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='3651521' first='Tristan' last='Franklin'], who made the decision to transfer from Bishop O'Connell and reclass to 2028. The rise for the 6-foot-5 wing has officially begun and shows no signs of stopping. He had a great battle against 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2149164' first='RJ' last='Moore'] last night and has put forth one heck of a showing thus far in DMV Live play averaging 17.8PPG, 6.7RPG and 1.8APG on 49 percent from the field and 42 percent from three.

Aside from Franklin you have 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='2919978' first='Declan' last='Conley'], who has been somewhat of a breakout guy for me. Standing around 6'3"-6'4" he brings tremendous size as a lethal shooter as he rains in jumpers from three off the catch and showed some good balance off the bounce getting to his spots. He's a name scholarship programs should check out sooner rather than later building out their 2028 boards.

2029 point guard [player_tooltip player_id='3669306' first='Corey' last='Brandon'] brings a ton to the table for a rising sophomore such as quick-twitch ability, confidence in handling pressure and keeping his defender honest as he can sink jumpers off the dribble. Up front they have 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2896959' first='Daniel' last='Russell'] and 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2893757' first='Anthony' last='Garris'], both of which could be scholarship prospects and with this team's projected success this season, will be an easy sell to college programs.

2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2149164' first='RJ' last='Moore'] looks the part

To end my evening, I watched what has arguably been my favorite game thus far as Ambassador Christian and Potomac battled it out in the second gym. Moore was coming off a nice week at NBPA Top 100 Camp, but for this team he run the show and did so at a high level. His fluid shotmaking from deep and creativity off the bounce had high major programs in attendance and the 6'6" combo guard went for 29PTS including six three's while hauling in six boards and three assists.

2027 Kye Gray rolling on all cylinders

Expect Bethel Academy to take their program to new heights under Azhar Shamsudeen and they've already shown signs of whats to come with their success in summer league and this weekend. Kye Gray has been the engine with a silly stat line to support as he leads the event through two days with 31PPG on 50 percent shooting from the field, rebounding at a plus rate for his size and position at 5.7RPG all while continuing to create for others at 3.3APG. He received his first Division I offer last month from UMass Lowell and while he may be somewhat of an acquired taste for some schools, the bottomline is the kid is a winner and now learning to produce consistently as the number one guy.
