Franklin will end up being one of the more coveted prospect in the VA 2028 class thanks to his ability to play on/off the ball at 6’5.” His fluidity, pace and decision-making are all aspects that clearly translate to the next level and while he’s prided himself in being a productive utility player over the last couple of seasons, it’s his time to be a primary guy at Potomac School and there are plenty of reasons to be excited. I always love to see how players bounce back after a rough performance because they’re bound to happen. The way he responded to his rough outing against Bishop O’Connell was loud, and by that I mean a 30-point outburst that included hauling in seven rebounds in a win versus a scrappy Bethel group. Despite him having lows leading up to the Bethel game, he remained confident that his dependable jumper would find its way back and it did just that while mixing things up off the bounce and using his length around the cup when he found edges in driving lanes.

Great redemption game for Franklin after he and Potomac ran into a buzzsaw that is Bishop O’Connell yesterday. The 6-foot-5 guard was back playing with great pace, being efficient with his approach off the bounce and sinking jumpers of all varieties with his feathery touch. When he’s playing at this level, this Potomac team has a chance to be true contenders in the MAC in 2026-27 and beyond. His production breeds winning and no better example of his 30-point, 7-rebound performance leading Potomac to an early morning win over a tough Bethel group.

Franklin’s decision to reclass and transfer to The Potomac School could end up benefiting him from a recruiting perspective pretty significantly. He’s been glowing this spring and summer with Team Breakdown DMV as a Swiss army knife that can play multiple positions, bring stability and flow to the offense with high-IQ plays and defend four positions. All of the things that he brings to the floor are going to be easy for college staffs to envision him in their system.

Franklin has announced a move to Potomac School along with a reclassification to the 2028 class, adding even more intrigue to an already impressive trajectory. The wing with good size enjoyed a breakout spring with Team Breakdown, consistently producing against quality competition and showcasing a polished offensive skill set. Franklin is an efficient shot maker who scores within the flow of the offense while also possessing the ability to create his own shot off the dribble. He combines good strength with above average athleticism, allowing him to finish through contact, attack closeouts, and impact the game in multiple ways. His feel for the game stands out, as he consistently makes smart decisions and plays with poise beyond his years. W

There’s a real argument that no prospect left a bigger impression on me this weekend than Franklin. With his size around 6-foot-5, you could slide him between the two or the three, but in healthy spurts this weekend he was able to show his grab-and-go ability to lead the break and make plays. Franklin was outstanding from an efficiency perspective as he helped Team Breakdown DMV P32 to the championship game where they would come up short against Team Breakdown FL P32. In the chaotic pace or environment that grassroots ball can bring, Franklin’s ability to play at his own pace, bury shots from deep or process reads off the bounce with such precision were all aspects to his game that I only saw in spurts as a sophomore at O’Connell. This could be the beginning of a huge summer ahead for Franklin, who averaged 17.3 points per game for the weekend headlined by an opening 28-point outing on Saturday.

Franklin was outstanding on Saturday, pouring in 28 points in a win for Team Breakdown. The junior brings good size, a high basketball IQ, and a continually improving offensive skill set, highlighted by his ability to consistently knock down shots from beyond the arc. An All-WCAC performer at Bishop O’Connell this season, he looks poised for a strong spring and summer as he continues to elevate his play in front of college coaches.

The junior earned All-WCAC honors after averaging over 6 points and 5 rebounds per game for the Knights. Franklin brings good positional size and length, along with a strong feel for the game. He is a capable open shot maker who plays within the flow of the offense, rebounds his position, and consistently competes on the defensive end. His combination of size, instincts, and effort makes him a reliable two-way contributor.

Really liked the energy Franklin brought to the game. He was a threat to score from behind the arc and connected on 3 three pointers and is someone who needs to be respected out there if he is left alone. He finished with 11 points. Franklin used his length to rebound and collect steals. He is a prospect who should be on the radar of low and mid-major coaches. His best basketball is ahead of him.

-Franklin has really performed well in a role that he’s carved out for himself as a utility wing–especially in this one. Franklin plays great on-ball and help defense, knocks down open shots, and was active on the defensive glass to close out possessions for OC. His stretch in the 4Q with three straight triples off the catch gave the Knights the lead for good. Love his unselfish approach to the game at both ends of the floor as a low maintenance wing prospect.
