Expert Analysis
Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
A Navy commit, Iscandari has put together an outstanding season as a strong, steady presence at the lead guard position, averaging 15.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. He has the versatility to impact the game as both a scorer and distributor, showing a natural feel for when to take over offensively and when to facilitate for teammates. A capable open shot maker, he stretches the defense from the perimeter while also using his strength to get downhill and finish through contact. Beyond the box score, he plays with poise and maturity, competes as a willing on-ball defender, and consistently sets the tone with his toughness and leadership.

Akim had a special type of game for Potomac as he spent the afternoon generating any type of offense desired for his team. Early on it was about gong through the offense and finding the right times and spaces to attack and open up the floor. Akim was mastering the pick-and-roll/pop with his bigs and created a lot of short-shots for them, along with finding the open shooter when the defense made it’s rotations. Akim was a ballhawk as always, picking off the opposition and finishing in light speed on the other end. Had a nice mix of pullups in the midrange and hard finishes at the basket. Never let off the gas and showed why he’s one of the most underrated point guards in the area. Dominated his matchup and displayed a true all-around performance.

Akim is a smart and tough as nailed playmaker who mixes scoring and distributing nicely. He can break you down off the bounce using quick crossovers and showcases very good quickness. Dangerous off the bounce as a slasher type with a fantastic touch around the rim finishing with either hand. He also hit shots off the dribble and operates so efficiently in the mid-range areas scoring in a variety of ways and knocking down shots at a high rate. Finished the game with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists.

Iscandari is a physically imposing guard who plays like he is a Tasmanian devil. He uses his strength to bully his way into the paint. Iscandari fills the stat sheet with his ability to score, rebound, facilitate and defend. He chipped in 10 points in a loss against Sallies. I like how active his motor is.

Iscandari is a jet point guard impressed on both ends of the floor with his tenacity. He excels muscling his way into the paint and scoring around the bucket. Iscandari has a great feel for the game and directs traffic for his AKT squad. Iscandari converted several three point shots. He found his teammates in great spots on the floor for scoring chances. Low majors in need of a ferocious point guard who has skills that translate to winning should have Iscandari on their big board.

One of the most underrated point guards in the DM(V). Akim’s performance at DMV Live upped his status and recruitment altogether. He was instrumental in attacking the basket off the dribble. Drew a lot of fouls at the rim and spent plenty of time knocking down free shots. Slashed to the rim with a vengeance, beating his matchup and dashing inside time and time again. Akim ended DMV Live S1 with an averaged of 21.3 ppg, 5 rebounds and 4 assists through 3 games. Scored 12.5 through 4 games at Session II, and hauled in a major D-1 offer following the event. Akim played the screen game well, assisting the pop-man for 3 consistently. 2-way star guard for Potomac School. The dual-sport athlete’s recruitment should continue to take off as the summer wanes on.

Akim had an impressive seven games stretch showcasing his shot making versatility mixing in jumpers from all areas both off the catch and off the dribble. Did a nice job creating for himself and for others. A powerful guard with effortless deep range on the jumper, did a great job relocating to get open and his catch and release was quick, footwork sound. Akim was especially dangerous off the dribble where he can maneuver his way to the rim to score, hit the dribble pull-up at a high clip or drive and find a cutter for a basket. I liked his defensive energy both defending the dribble, in passing lanes and battling inside for rebounds. Vocal, active. Average 21points, 4 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and knocked down impressive 53.8% (11-21) from the 3pt line.

is one of the rare guards who can dominate a game without scoring many points. Akim is averaging the second most assists a game and is in the top 5 in steals. He is averaging a near triple-double and has been eye-popping. Akim has an elite first step and plays with a great motor. Akim has a deep bag when it comes to how he makes plays for others, and he still can get his own as a scorer.

-Was surprised to see him impact the game as a rebounder so heavily in this one but Iscandari is developing a knack for sneaking in from the weakside to secure a defensive rebound in order to initiate the break for his team. Came away impressed with the live dribble passing with either hand as Iscandari used his paint touches to rocket passes across the key to open shooters to finish with a near triple double. Iscandari enters his senior year looking to make noise as one of the most consistent and potent scorers in the area.
