Expert Analysis
Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
A Saint Francis (PA) commit, he has put together an efficient and productive season, averaging over 12 points per game while shooting better than 40% from beyond the arc. The left-handed guard is a true three-level scorer who can stretch the defense with his perimeter shooting, rise comfortably in the midrange, and attack the rim with confidence. He is a solid, repeatable shot maker who forces defenders to close out hard, opening driving lanes for himself and teammates. With above-average quickness and good body control, he can serve as a secondary ball handler and decision maker, making sound reads and keeping the offense flowing. His combination of efficiency, versatility, and skill set makes him a well-rounded backcourt piece at the next level.

Mason is an exciting lefty flame thrower shooter/scorer played an aggressive nature on or off the ball. Leading the charge for his team. He played with poise, control, and patience, making good reads and attacking the defense when he could. Douglas was able to effectively make plays off the bounce, getting paint touches consistently as well as knocking down shots. But he was also a strong playmaker for others on his team, as the point guard led the way for his team. Finish the game with 10 points, and 6 rebounds.

Douglas is a high-octane southpaw who found different ways to put the ball in the bucket. He connected on four three pointers and needs to be guarded when he is out on the perimeter. Douglas frequently took what the defense gave him time and time again. I like how he could show off his in-between game. He would be a great pickup at the small college level.

Douglas has established himself as one of the better catch-and-shoot two-guards 2027 VA class. The 6-foot-1 southpaw has smooth mechanics from three and the sort of confidence that allows him to rattle off 2-to-3 straight once he sees his first shot drop. It was a mixture of rim attacks in transition or nice lifts in the half court to free himself up for clean looks as he converted six three’s in the two games. Douglas averaged 16 points per game as Potomac finished 1-1 with a loss to Salesianum (DE) and a win over Elizabeth (NJ).

The lefty guard is playing some of his best basketball of the season during the last couple weeks. The unsigned senior is a solid shot maker, has above average quickness and can be a secondary ball handler and decision maker. Douglas’ recruitment is open and college coaches should take notice.

Mason brings significant value to his team on the court, consistently finding ways to make his impact felt. He is a reliable guard who makes great reads, displays vision and feel on the court, finds teammates, and can be an effective scoring option. He is a strong creator off the bounce, finishes well attacking downhill, is a reliable shot-maker, and his presence on be felt in a big way on the defensive end. Mason should once again bring tremendous value and leadership to The Potomac School this upcoming season.

Mason didn’t shoot the ball particularly well from three today, but he is a terrific three-point shooter. Mason is more than just a shooter. He can score from all three levels and is crafty with the ball in his hands. He is another nice scoring guard this team has, and he showed out today. He finished with 17 points.

-Douglas can really fill it up in the halfcourt and Potomac’s system is geared towards him getting off clean looks from the perimeter. Love his shiftiness with the ball in his hand and he has a knack for drawing fouls in the halfcourt. His ability to score in bunches makes him a guard that needs to be at the top of scouting reports.
