There’s a real argument for Moore to be claimed as the unofficial MVP of S1 overall. His playmaking as the primary ball-handler throughout was nothing short of impressive combined with his ability to create separation from his defender whenever he pleased. Even if the defender stayed with him and delivered a heavy contest on the release, it didn’t deter Moore from burying the shot in demoralizing fashion. The way he gets to his spots and overall fluidity within his movements is what you see at the highest levels of college basketball. Moore put on a show in front of double-digits P5 schools who were tracking him. Ambassador Christian split their games at 2-2 while Moore averaged 21.8PPG, 8RPG and 2.3 while converting 48 percent of his 38 attempts from deep, most of which came off the dribble.

Nike had two sessions for EYBL play during the month of may and Moore suited up for Team United 17u in the first of those in Memphis before making the move to Team Thad 17u for the session the next week. Team United struggled a little bit in Memphis, going 1-3 on the session with Moore averaging 9.0 Points, 3.5 Rebounds, 2.0 Assists, and 1.3 Steals per game on 35/26/50 shooting splits. He then made the move to Team Thad where his production and efficiency skyrocketed as he averaged 14.5 Points, 6.3 Rebounds, 1.3 Assists, 0.8 Steals, and 0.5 Blocks per game on 46/44 shooting splits. Thad did fall to a 1-3 record in the session but Moore’s blend of shot making and rebounding was on full display as he’s a complete weapon on the offensive end at his size. It was an eventful month for Moore but he was able to settle in with the new group and play his game at a high level.

On a Team United 17u EYBL group with a ton of NC transplants grabbing the headlines, Moore is the face of the roster for guys still in the State of North Carolina. Team United went 1-2 on the weekend but Moore provided legit production averaging 12.7 Points, 5.7 Rebounds, 2.7 Assists, 0.7 Steals, and 0.7 Blocks per game on 37/27/100 shooting splits for the session. Moore showed that he can be really impactful in a variety of ways, even when the shot isn’t falling the way it normally does. In their lone win on the weekend, Moore provided a 17 Point and 10 Rebound double double, helping his team put up 90 points vs Vegas Elite. Moore should continue to find his own ways to contribute with this group and is proving to be a really high level wing rebounder vs high level competition.

Moore did great work as he’s now running with Team United 17u EYBL as he is doing a great job fitting in amongst the other talent on this roster while excelling in his own game. Moore did a great job making outside shots, contributing on the glass, and appears to have put some work in the weight room over the course of the gap between high school and travel ball. I’ve always said that Moore is at his best when engaged on the glass and he clearly was in our viewing of him on Sunday. Moore is so capable of great things and he appears to be doing that with more consistency but it feels like this is the perfect group for him to shine in his own game without having to burden too much responsibility. The size, shot making, and ability to self create offense will be the calling cards that Moore is known for all spring/summer with this group.

RJ Moore RJ Moore RJ Moore 6'6" | CG Ambassador Christian | 2027 State #49 Nation NC is one of the highest ranked players in the class for a reason and after an up and down start to the season for both himself individually and Ambassador Christian collectively, they both appear to be hitting their stride and this particular game in The John Wall was a big reason why. Moore finished with 23 Points, 4 Rebounds, and 2 Steals in the dominant win over Davidson Day. He was efficient from beyond the arc going 5-10 from the floor. All of this is simply what he does, what I was most impressed with was his engagement on the defensive end of the floor. He was a really disruptive guy on the perimeter in this one and helped out guarding the front-court of Davidson Day when needed, embracing the physical challenge of guarding bigger guys. It seems like Ambassador and Moore are really starting to gel as they’ve picked up multiple key wins since The John Wall. This performance from him being a sign of things to come is an incredible sign.

Moore is a supremely gifted scorer with a really big national recruiting reputation. Now that he’s made the move to Ambassador, he is forced to show the other aspects of his game and the flashes in those areas are starting to show with more frequency. Moore could be a dominant rebounder if he wants to, we’re now seeing games where he takes the glass over. His step back going left feels like an open shot in an empty gym, inevitable. As he continues to add strength, he’ll become a more dominant driver and continue to show all aspects of what he can do. Moore is definitely showing signs of the growth we want to see from a player of his caliber, as it gets more and more consistent, he will reach his potential. After a tough game Vs Moravian, Moore and Ambassador responded very well by taking Max Preps top 15 Webb School to the brink in a close loss. Moore’s growth was on full display throughout all 94 feet and 32 minutes of that one.

Moore is a dynamic off the bounce shot-maker with deep range and a couple of go-to moves that allow him to get separation whenever he wants. Moore is at his best when he’s engaged on the glass, in the 2nd game of the weekend, Moore was a real presence on the boards finishing with 8 rebounds, this allowed him to be engaged early and active as a weapon offensively. Moore loves the step back going left after a dead dribble, he is so comfortable shooting off of that. Moore found a way to not force the issue and still get it done at a high volume. In their first game of the weekend, Moore’s shot wasn’t falling but he was a consistent two way presence in the game. Moore is an advanced sniper in NC that should continue to see his recruitment maintain it’s activity throughout the high school season.

Moore is an electric combo guard to keep an eye on as a national name in the 2027 class in North Carolina. He’s shown he can make things happen on the perimeter with his ability to knock down shots and attack the paint. He’ll be a prospect to keep an eye on on the 3SSB stage with Garner Road and fresh off a state championship with Corvian Community and offers from Rutgers and Utah with a list that continues to grow.
