The CBG Fall Team Camp took place at the Henrico Sports and Event Center this past weekend, with two days of action featuring some top tier teams from Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. With four courts of action and over 30 teams in attendance, there were a number of players who made an impression on the coaches and scouts in attendance. Here's a look at part one of some of the top 2027 performers in the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194710' first='Brian' last='Mitchell Jr.'] | 6'5” WG | CBG Elite (Varina)

Mitchell was named MOP of the event, as he came to play for the CBG Elite team on both days and showed why he's an All State performer who is considered one of the best scorers in the Richmond area. The 6'5” wing is as talented a shotmaker you will come across, as he showed deep range off the catch and on the move, he created space off the bounce with good footwork to get into his shot, and he showed he doesn't need much space to get his shot off either. He showed quite a bit of improvement in his ability to get downhill and finish through contact, and when he got hot it was almost like you felt bad for whoever had to guard him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2370724' first='Keaton' last='Gregory'] | 6'9” C | Trinity Episcopal

Gregory continues to show improvement over the past few years, and is looking like one of the top young prospects in the Richmond area as he continues on that trend. The 6'9” big man has developed into a knock down shooter from deep, which he showed at the event stretching the floor with his shooting, allowing for driving bigs and even showing his passing ability hitting cutters as well. He finished well around the rim with both hands, anchored the defense with his rim protection, and is getting more fluid as he's growing into his body.

[player_tooltip player_id='2382874' first='Mason' last='Ridgeway'] | 6'5” WF | Evergreen Christian

Ridgeway transferred to Evergreen this summer after leading Riverside to a state semifinal appearance and reclassified to the 2027 class, making him a prospect that D1 coaches should absolutely be looking at moving forward. The 6'5” wing showed a lot of tools as he made shots from multiple levels, showed his ability to create for himself and others off the bounce, and showed he can work off the ball to get open as well. He showed good athleticism moving his feet laterally and finishing at the rim with explosion, as well as an ability to impact the game across the board without needing the ball as much as others.

[player_tooltip player_id='1963395' first='Cameron' last='Prosper'] | 6'7” PF | Bethel Academy

Prosper is another player who moved from a public school and reclassified, transferring from Hayfield where he was a two sport athlete to Bethel to focus on basketball, and he's an intriguing prospect with his versatility and mismatch ability. He's a very good athlete at 6'7” who can play both on the perimeter and in the post, and he thrives with his switch ability on the defensive end to guard multiple positions. He was dynamite in transition running the floor and finishing at the rim, he showed a good midrange game and attacked the offensive glass well, and if he continues to polish his perimeter skillset he'll be a guy to keep an eye on moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='2353606' first='Amani' last='Asare'] | 6'0” PG | Highland School

Asare transferred to Highland this summer after being an All State selection at Potomac last season, and he's shown through the summer and the fall that he's ready to step in to a tone setter role with his aggressive play on both ends of the floor. He was an absolute pest on the defensive end, showing his ability to guard the ball 94 feet and turn defenders, while also showing good quickness and hands to pick-pocket them in the open floor as well. He gets downhill very aggressively and is strong enough to play through contact, he stops on a dime in the midrange and can create space to get his shot off, and he can move off the ball and knock down shots from deep with range as well.

Trey Leonardo | 6'3” WF | George Marshall

Leonardo made a name for himself last year with George Marshall, and he showed in the team camp to expect even more from him this year. The 6'3” wing is a versatile player on both ends of the floor, and he was productive in a number of ways and showed a lot of different ways to score the basketball as well. He shot it well from deep off the catch, he showed he can get to spots in the midrange and get downhill, he was a good rebounder for his size, and he showed sneaky athleticism on both ends of the floor too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1588134' first='Zyon' last='McGlone'] | 5'11” PG | Peninsula Catholic

McGlone reclassified to the 2027 class which should help him and his PC team trying to make another deep run in the VISAA D-II state tournament, and per usual he was one of the more fun prospects to watch throughout the event. While he's only 5'11”, he's a special type of athlete with his quick first step and end-to-end speed, not to mention his hang time and ability to finish among much bigger defenders in the paint. He was dynamite in transition where he pushed the pace and get to the rim at will, he showed improvements in his ability to make tough shots off the bounce from the midrange and from deep, and defensively he flew all over the place to create turnovers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2348972' first='Colton' last='Davis'] | 6'4” WF | Liberty Christian

Davis is coming off a great summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2227208' first='Hill' last='City Crash'], and is set to have a breakout junior season for a talented LCA team that performed very well in their two games on Sunday against good teams. At 6'4” Davis has good positional size and a strong frame to get in the paint to defend and rebound, but he really thrives with his ability to shoot it from deep at a very high clip. He made shots on the move both coming off of screens and in transition, he showed deep range with a quick release so he didn't need much space, and once he got it going from deep he was able to take over the game with his shooting.
