Simply put, Colton Davis is one of the best shooters in Virginia’s 2027 class, and his ranking doesn’t fully reflect that.
The Liberty Christian Academy guard has been on an absolute tear this spring while playing for Hill City Crash, consistently producing against quality competition and showing why he’s one of the more dangerous scorers in the state.
Davis has a natural ability to score the basketball. He can knock down shots from well beyond the three-point line, create his own offense, and heat up quickly. Once he sees a couple shots go through the net, he becomes incredibly difficult to slow down.
What makes his situation particularly intriguing is the opportunity he’ll have next season at Liberty Christian. With Tre Smith transferring and several other impactful players graduating, there will be plenty of opportunities available for Davis to step into a larger role.
Given his scoring ability and confidence, it would not be surprising to see him become one of the primary offensive options for LCA. The increased responsibility should allow him to showcase even more of his game while continuing to build momentum with college programs.
The recent official visit to Roanoke College is another indication that coaches are beginning to take notice. If he continues shooting the ball at the level he has this summer, more schools are likely to follow.

continues to establish himself as one of the more intriguing long-term prospects in Virginia’s 2027 class. The 6-foot-5 wing was highly productive throughout the live period and finished among the leading scorers in the 17U division, averaging 17.5 points per game. He was the MVP of the 17U division the weekend.
Davis brings tremendous value because he combines size, shooting ability, and overall offensive versatility. After shooting over 40 percent from three during the high school season at Liberty Christian, he once again proved to be a consistent perimeter threat. Whether spotting up off the catch or stepping into transition threes, Davis showed confidence and efficiency from beyond the arc.
What stood out most, though, was his ability to impact the game beyond shooting. Davis attacked closeouts effectively, scored off the bounce, and consistently found ways to finish around the rim. He moves well without the basketball, cuts hard, and understands how to position himself offensively to create opportunities.
With his size, skill set, and feel for the game, Davis looks like a prospect whose recruitment could continue to take off over the next year.

Davis was strong in both evaluations on Saturday, including a 22-point performance in a narrow loss to Tre Mann Elite. The junior brings good positional size and is a sharp shooter from beyond the arc. He can take advantage of mismatches by posting smaller defenders, while also showing the ability to knock down perimeter jumpers off the dribble. With a high basketball IQ and versatile scoring package, he is a difficult matchup on the wing.
