We enjoy each and every weekend spent in the gym. However, admittedly, there is a little bit of a different buzz during the live evaluation periods. There are college coaches in the gym at every event we go to, but there is something about seeing the big name Division I coaches along the baselines that changes the vibe. Saturday was a great day of hoops at Spooky Nook in Hamilton, Ohio as we continued our coverage of UAA Session II/UA Rise Session I. Let's empty out the notebook and discuss what we watched on Saturday.

Progeny 16u Goes 2-0 on the Day

After running into a bit of a buzzsaw on Friday night, Progeny 16u responded with a pair of wins on Saturday. Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground coverage of their 8:00 a.m. game that saw them come from behind thanks to some strong play down the stretch from [player_tooltip player_id='2560624' first='Chase' last='Lawson'] (Warren Central H.S. 2027) and [player_tooltip player_id='2622021' first='Jacob' last='Wilkerson'] (Jeffersonville H.S. 2027). However, it was [player_tooltip player_id='2414953' first='Mason' last='Loyd'] (Terre Haute North H.S. 2027) who hit the go-ahead three-point shot with about 15 seconds remaining that proved to be the game-winner and set the final score of 56-55.

[player_tooltip player_id='2141044' first='Brandon' last='Day'] (Brownsburg H.S. 2027) led Progeny 16u in scoring with 13 points while Lawson, Loyd, and Wilkerson all added 12 points a piece.

Progeny 17u Rolls to Two 20+ Point Wins

Progeny 17u probably would like to have Friday night's game back. However, they responded in excellent fashion on Saturday picking up two wins by the scores of 64-43 and 74-46. They were firing on all cylinders in both matchups while playing in front of a crowd of college coaches from various levels.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560965' first='Treigh' last='Schelsky'] (Parke Heritage H.S. 2026), who earned an offer from Huntington on Saturday, led the charge in game one pouring in 24 points while shooting 6-8 from three-point range. [player_tooltip player_id='1922051' first='Anthony' last='Fresh'] (Charlestown H.S. 2026) added 18 points while [player_tooltip player_id='2476482' first='Dane' last='Caldwell'] (Silver Creek H.S. 2026) chipped in 13 points. Both prospects continue to generate a good deal of college buzz this weekend. However, 6'8" center [player_tooltip player_id='2272232' first='Isaac' last='Pickel'] is making a case as they guy who comes up most frequently in conversations. He simply continues to improve and has such a great motor for a big man.

In game two, Progeny 17u placed four scorers in double-figures in a near 30-point route. Fresh and [player_tooltip player_id='1561129' first='Julian' last='Vogt'] (Carmel H.S. 2026) each scored 15 points while Caldwell chipped in 14 points and [player_tooltip player_id='1560964' first='Edwin' last='Holmes'] (Princeton Community H.S. 2026) finished with 10 points. Vogt played one of his best games of the spring connecting on 4-5 shot from beyond the arc.

[program_tooltip program_id='2228160' first='OPS' last=''] 15u Remains Undefeated

Saturday was our first opportunity of the spring to really sit down and evaluate this [program_tooltip program_id='2228160' first='OPS' last=''] 15u squad. We certainly came away impressed. They are a fun group to watch with all of the pieces and rolled to a pair of dominant victories to move to 3-0 on the weekend at UA Rise Session I.

In the game we watched, a 76-54 victory, [player_tooltip player_id='2560357' first='Daniel' last='Selking'] (Bellmont H.S. 2028) led the way in the scoring column with 23 points including five-three point shots. Left-handed forward [player_tooltip player_id='2797649' first='Drew' last='Jones'] (Warsaw H.S. 2028) was excellent finishing with 22 points and versatile wing [player_tooltip player_id='2791285' first='Niles' last='Knox'] (Angola H.S. 2028) added 15 points.

[program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] 15u Pulls Out Chaotic Victory

Admittedly, the final minutes of this game weren't exactly the prettiest. Turnovers, missed shots, technical fouls, and a ton of whistle made it a bit hectic. However, [program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] 15u was able to come away with a hard-fought 72-69 victory.

[player_tooltip player_id='2565742' first='Charles' last='Hardiman'] (Merrillville H.S. 2028), one of the top ranked freshmen in the state of Indiana according to the Prep Hoops Indiana Prospect Rankings, was excellent throughout on his way to 26 points. However, it was 6'5" forward [player_tooltip player_id='2560417' first='Thomas' last='Kostbade'] who really flipped the game in the fourth quarter. The big man, traditionally known for what he does around the basket, knocked in three three-point shots in the fourth quarter for [program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] 15u. He was a massive part of them coming away with the victory.

Hardiman's 26 points was a game-high while MJ Wilson (Crown Point H.S. 2028), Cole Glvydis (Andrean H.S. 2028), and Kostbade each scored 11 points.
