The Cardinals are coming off of a loss at the Sneakers For Santa Shootout against Crispus Attucks while Crown Point is 1-0 after a 20-point win at Penn.

Cathedral @ Brebeuf Jesuit

There are only so many opportunities to see Cathedral play against IHSAA competition this season. Nearly half of their scheduled games are against out-of-state competition. This evening they will face-off with rival Brebeuf Jesuit. Cathedral is 2-2 on the young season, against an incredibly tough schedules, while the Braves are 2-0. Notre Dame signee [player_tooltip player_id='1525663' first='Brady' last='Koehler'] is the headliner for the Fighting Irish, while [player_tooltip player_id='1561135' first='Keaton' last='Aldridge Jr'], [player_tooltip player_id='1561435' first='Julien' last='Smith'], and R'Mani Wells are all juniors to follow as well. 6'10" sophomore big man [player_tooltip player_id='2141045' first='Ben' last='McKinney'] is a high-upside prospect to watch for Brebeuf Jesuit. [player_tooltip player_id='1561106' first='Austin' last='Ford'] and Chase Ford have played well in their first two games as well.

Manchester @ Tippecanoe Valley

The interior battle alone between Grace signee [player_tooltip player_id='1297028' first='Gavin' last='Betten'] and junior [player_tooltip player_id='1981703' first='Stephen' last='Akase'] is reason enough to watch this matchup. Betten, a 6'7" forward who recently became his school's all-time leading scorer, is averaging 27.0 points and 11.7 rebounds for the 2-1 Squires. Akase, a 6'6" forward, is putting up 14.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game for the 2-2 Vikings.

South Bend St. Joseph @ Marquette Catholic

South Bend St. Joseph would be the clear cut #1 team in Class 3A if not for Crispus Attucks and Cathedral moving down from 4A. Still, the Huskies sit at #3 in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class 3A Top 10 and have a pair of dominant victories to begin the year. Unsigned senior wing [player_tooltip player_id='1297002' first='Chase' last='Konieczny'] leads the charge while Indiana Junior All-Star candidates [player_tooltip player_id='2024513' first='Nick' last='Shrewsberry'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1560973' first='Ethan' last='Roseman'], along with sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2140359' first='Elijah' last='King'], hold things down in the backcourt. As for Marquette Catholic, they are off to a 3-0 start and are ranked #5 in Class 1A. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1561100' first='Colson' last='Dobre'] and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2414957' first='Josiah' last='Mays'] are the players to watch for the Blazers.

University @ Cardinal Ritter

This matchup could very well be a precursor to a rematch in Class 2A Sectional 42. University is out to a 2-0 start to the season led by Maryville commit [player_tooltip player_id='2277819' first='Max' last='McComb']. Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1282878' first='Blake' last='Gray'] is one to watch for the Trailblazers as well. Meanwhile, Cardinal Ritter features one of the top sophomores in the state in 6'7" forward [player_tooltip player_id='2140352' first='Devin' last='Bolden']. He is averaging 22.0 points and 13.3 rebounds per game so far this season.
