Chicago Elite Classic Preview

The Chicago Elite Classic is just around the corner.  This annual event is one of the must attend early season events on the basketball calendar each season.  Here we examine the schedule and prospects to watch!   As usual the event is stacked with high level prospects.  In the Illinois senior class it is headlined by top 10 quartet [player_tooltip player_id='1385292' first='Phoenix' last='Gill'], [player_tooltip player_id='1385300' first='Antonio' last='Munoz'], [player_tooltip player_id='1766460' first='Al' last='Brooks'] Jr, and [player_tooltip player_id='1385283' first='Aleks' last='Alston'].  Overall 15 of the top 50 2025 prospects will be in the event with 24 of the top 100.   The junior class has five top 10 ranked players in the event with [player_tooltip player_id='2105360' first='Lincoln' last='Williams'], [player_tooltip player_id='1552475' first='Marquis' last='Clark'], [player_tooltip player_id='1845350' first='Stephen' last='Brown'], [player_tooltip player_id='2617353' first='Andre' last='Tyler'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1845352' first='Jamson' last='Coulter'].  In the 2026 class 17 of the top 50 prospects and 26 of the top 100 prospects are in the CEC.   How about the much-hyped sophomore class?  Well, the Big 3 of [player_tooltip player_id='2125612' first='Devin' last='Cleveland'], [player_tooltip player_id='2323624' first='Davion' last='Thompson'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2323571' first='Jaxson' last='Davis'] will all be in the house on Saturday!  Total there are 13 of the top 50 sophomore prospects in the state playing.   With freshman it is tough to know which young prospects will get run, but out of the PHI 2028 Watch List Top 40 there are 13 who are on rosters.
