Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2028 First Look - Best of the Best

Admittedly, we here at Prep Hoops Indiana don't really pay much attention until the prospects hit high school. Our upcoming Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase serves as the unofficial launching off point for a new class of prospects entering our radar. That will be the first time that our staff takes a closer look at the Class of 2028. However, because we watch so much basketball throughout the summer and constantly have our ear to the ground around the state, we can't help but start to know who the top incoming players might be. He doesn't just get things done because he is skilled and 6'4". Bode is able to slice his way through the defense off of the dribble, stretch the floor a bit as a catch-and-shoot threat, and uses his length to guard multiple positions defensively. High-upside prospect to keep an eye on heading into his freshman season at Hamilton Southeastern.     Bowling was one of the incoming freshman prospects that we were able to get eyes on during the Charlie Hughes Showcase in June. The 6'4" wing/forward got plenty of varsity run for Anderson High School and should factor into their rotation from day one this winter. His length and athleticism really stand out as he projects as a versatile two-way prospect.     If anyone is going to challenge [player_tooltip player_id='2382148' first='Noah' last='Washington'] as the top prospect in Indiana's Class of 2028, we are ready to contend that it could be Coolman. He is that impressive. The Penn High School product already has positional size and length in the backcourt that he pairs with an incredibly smooth skill set. He processes the game well beyond his years, can make any pass on the floor, and has a switch he can flip into scoring mode as well. We at Prep Hoops Indiana are really high on his long-term potential.     DeRossett played up with Team Robinson 15u in some Prep Hoops Circuit events which included the Grit Region Finals where he played a big part in leading them to the championship game. The 6'2" left-handed guard is an outstanding shooting threat and that will be what could get him on the floor earlier in his career. Fort Wayne Wayne is loaded with talent, but don't be surprised to see him play his way into some minutes for the Generals. He is a smooth operator offensively and can really shoot it.     Another prospect that we had a chance to get an early look at this summer at the Charlie Hughes Showcase, Harris has a special combination of size, strength, athleticism, and skill level. He is another one that could contend towards the very top of this Class of 2028 in terms of long term prospectus. The 6'5" forward is a very good rebounder for a young prospect with a quick, explosive leaping ability. Look for him to be a primary piece of what will be a very good Indianapolis Lutheran team this year at the Class 1A level.     The son of Saint Francis head coach Chad LaCross, Bryce is part of a very talented young core coming into Blackhawk Christian. He has good size in the backcourt, has proven he can score it at a high level in a variety of ways, and will have varsity-level athleticism and strength right away. There is never a shortage of talent coming through Fort Wayne, specifically at historic powerhouse Blackhawk Christian. LaCross, along with [player_tooltip player_id='2539823' first='Drake' last='Sefton'], will team up to lead the Braves for years to come.     The younger brother of Top 5 Class of 2027 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='2266897' first='Kenneth' last='Lampley'], Landon is an excellent player in his own right. We at Prep Hoops Indiana have seen him play a handful of times whether it was playing up a year this summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] on the EYBL Circuit or during June with Lawrence Central. Lampley is a pure point guard with excellent ball handling ability and smooth passing from a live dribble. Don't be surprised if he carves out a role early in his career.     We haven't had a chance to see a lot of Nash yet, but we certainly look forward to evaluating him in the upcoming months and hopefully at our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. What we do know is that the 6'4" forward was a rotation piece for Kokomo this summer and should see some varsity action this winter as a freshman.     Another one of the dynamic incoming backcourt prospects at Blackhawk Christian, Sefton is latest in his family to put on the Braves uniform. Similar to his older brothers, he is a strong, athletic guard with good positional size. What he can do as a shot creator off of the dribble will likely get him on the floor sooner rather than later for one of the best teams in Class 2A.     The de facto #1 prospect in Indiana's Class of 2028. Washington has been a prospect that has been on the radar for Indiana High School Basketball fans for a couple of years now as the next great prospect to come out of New Albany High School. He has great size and length on the perimeter at 6'4" with a real burst of explosiveness to his game. Washington has proven himself while playing up a year on the [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] 15u EYBL squad through the summer. Potential high-major prospect done the line.
