There was no change in the top four for the current look at the top prospects in the Class of 2027. All four enjoyed strong individual and team success for their high school programs, then proceeded to compete at the highest level of 15U basketball this spring. All four already have strong production profiles and the longterm upside to remain among the headliners in the class. The exact ordering of them is less important than the recognition of the top tier Joining them to round the top 5 is super productive southeastern Oklahoma freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2140743' first='Greydon' last='Howell'].
After the top 5, there were notable adjustments throughout. And an overall expansion of the rankings with more info based on high school production and what's happened so far this spring. It's still very early, which is why any current ranking exercise is based around painting an outline of prospects. With team camps and summer leagues taking place and players stepping into new roles and teams, it's quite possible that even by the end of the week that these rankings are outdated. Which is fitting, as rankings are meant to become outdated and changed. Especially when dealing with the development of young basketball prospect, a process that is not linear. Players grow at different rates, and it's important to remember the longer term picture over focusing on short term results.

While some of the oversights from the initial update back in January have been fixed, the picture is still incomplete. More efforts will be made in watching film, team camps, grassroots basketball and more. All in an attempt to paint the most accurate picture as possible of the ever changing Class of 2027 prospects.

The elite shooter continues to rise this spring with a great all around feel for a young lead guard. Shooting will likely be a key part of his identity going forward, as he can really stretch the floor and change games from deep. Especially with his quicker release and the smoothness of his shot. To go along with that scoring ability, there's major potential for him to be a teammate elevator with the floor vision and touch he has on passes. Lead guards now have to do it all on offense, so the burden will be heavy on Pogi's young shoulders. The early signs point to him being capable of carrying that load with a young, retooling Mustang team that will look to him to step up as a leader.

Physically gifted and tenacious, anybody familiar with basketball in Oklahoma knows "Joc" is a star. He's already strong and bouncy enough to live at the rims on drives. There's great energy to match with those gifts, especially as he continues to mature as a creator. But when projecting out the longterm growth, let's highlight what could be a pivotal moment. In the second half of the Class 5A State Title game, it was one of the few times Mitchell actually looked like a freshman. High stakes game, and instead of being proactive it felt like he was being reactive. Which was a rare sight for the all action guard. It's the type of adversity that often sparks prospects to make strides forward. And expect Mitchell to continue to make big strides going into another season with Booker T Washington as one of the best teams in the state.

Lowe simply knows how to score the rock. Attacking in transition, pulling up in the mid-range and even streaky three point shooting. He's added some height, which will help him survive at the rim. But as his body matures, he'll need to start gradually add strength to his skinny frame. Most importantly, the early signs point to him having the skillset and game to continue to develop into an elite scorer. Special upside for a player who passes one of the best tests in basketball, can he go get you a bucket? Yes, [player_tooltip player_id='2140733' first='Dallas' last='Lowe'] can go get you a bucket.

The Cascia Hall Commando was a consistent off the ball shooting weapon in the month of May on the EYBL Circuit. He let if fly with confidence, and even mixed in enough off the dribble scoring and finishing to hint at the upside he has as a full scorer. Duffie is a well rounded guard, with few weaknesses from a tangible trait standpoint. One potential area of improvement when comparing him to the top guards in this class, is offensive aggression. Watching him this spring, it felt too often he leaned on other players to create for him. Which that skillset projects more to a 3 and D type off the ball guard. It's still early days, and Duffie has the size and skills to continue to mature into a more complete guard.

Blazing end to end speed, non stop motor and a fun watch. Howell set southeastern Oklahoma on fire with video game type numbers in his first year of varsity action. In person viewings in February and March backed up the reasons to be excited about the speedy guard. He has great short area quickness and body control on drives, that allow him to play bigger this size off the dribble. Keeping tab on the lefty's shooting form will be an area to watch going forward. But the future is bright for Howell to be the next to carry the banner of big time guards from small towns in Oklahoma.
