Day 2 Hardwood Classic Standout Forwards

The quarterfinal round brought out some close games. Take a look at some of the standout forwards from the days' games in the 3A and 4A tournaments. Made a killing off of good rolls to the hoop and had a good connection with his guards in the pick-and-roll. Hit two clutch FTs with 38 seconds left in the game to put them up four.   [player_tooltip player_id='1450562' first='Jacori' last='Ervin'] | North Central | 16 pts 8 rebs 4 blks   Played through a lot of hard contact inside and took advantage of smaller defenders when Beach's big man got in foul trouble. Good recognition of the mismatches and worked a lot of foul calls to get to the line.   [player_tooltip player_id='1450982' first='Gelonni' last='“JuJu” Ervin'] | North Central | 11 pts 7 rebs 2 blks   Was very active on the glass and defending the rim all game. Showed some great determination to stay with the play, fight for offensive boards and was pretty effective finishing at the rim.   [player_tooltip player_id='1598394' first='Dominik' last='Robinson'] | Rainier Beach | 17 pts 12 rebs 6/6 FG   Played just 21 minutes due to some foul trouble but was highly effective each time he stepped on the floor. Very poised player in the post who feels out defenders, uses his big frame to create space and drew a bunch of fouls with his strong play.   [player_tooltip player_id='1451032' first='Jeremiah' last='White'] | Rainier Beach | 10 pts 3 rebs 2 ast 2 stls 1 blk   Continues to be one of the standout defenders of the tournament and has gotten going offensively by finding space to cut in behind defenders, recognizing when teammates are stuck or doubled and making well-timed cuts.   [player_tooltip player_id='1450489' first='Zaveon' last='Jones'] | Mountlake Terrace | 20 pts 8 rebs 10/14 FG   Just too big and strong for Mt. Spokane inside for much of the game. Got great position time and again and simply beasted the defense under the rim for an efficient 20 points.   [player_tooltip player_id='1450607' first='Drew' last='Rayment'] | Mt. Spokane | 19 pts 4 rebs 3 ast   Big game offensively with some skilled finishes through stacked defense inside. Opened the game with 12 points in the first quarter and really did a nice job splitting defenders, driving gaps hard and playing strong at the rim.   [player_tooltip player_id='1450484' first='Jacob' last='Cofie'] | Eastside Catholic | 19 pts 12 rebs 5 ast 3 blks   Huge double-double for the big man and also left a big mark on the game with his passing. Played through double teams almost the entire game when near the paint but found his other bigs on the opposite block for several assists. Defended the rim at a high level and had a big tip-in with 1:30 left to go up six.   [player_tooltip player_id='1821289' first='Omarion' last='Boston'] | Lincoln (Tacoma) | 25 pts 5 rebs   Been a huge competitor all tournament and carried a heavy load for the Abes offensively. Showed good patience inside to let aggressive defenders bite on pump fakes. Made a few really nice dishes for open looks from the blocks and high post.   [player_tooltip player_id='2368909' first='TeShawn' last='Ports-Jackson'] | Lincoln (Tacoma) | 7 pts 5 rebs   Stepped up bigger than the stat line shows. Came out in the first quarter feeling it, hit a deep 3 then followed up with a couple of key steals and played pretty solid post defense early on. Then stepped outside and defended the perimeter solid in the second quarter and was a big energy boost for them in the first half.   [player_tooltip player_id='1685489' first='Yeabsera' last='Aklog'] | Eastside Catholic | 16 pts 9 rebs 3 blks   Really started to dominate inside in the third period with low position and strength through multiple defenders at the rim. Good hands on the glass to tip rebounds up until he can corral them and was just too big inside for the defense to handle.   [player_tooltip player_id='1688028' first='Finnegan' last='Anderson'] | Davis | 36 pts 9 rebs 12/19 FG 11/16 FT   Unstoppable in this one. Plays with great balance, can score from every level, and has the arsenal to go around, through or over defenders in the paint.   [player_tooltip player_id='1685505' first='Malakai' last='Weimer'] | Skyview | 10 pts 11 rebs   Fought hard on the offensive glass getting his team second chance looks and has good change of pace/hesitations when down on the blocks. Came up big with an and-one when they were struggling late in the game to get things going. Also had a huge rebound off his teams missed FT then found Collins on the outside for 3.   [player_tooltip player_id='1685491' first='Lattimore' last='Ford'] | Mount Si | 26 pts 7 rebs 11/17 FG   Took off in the second quarter with big rebounds and running the floor hard. Had several above-the-rim finishes and mixed in some outside shots later on, showing really good touch from 3PT.   [player_tooltip player_id='2375333' first='Zach' last='Albright'] | Glacier Peak | 11 pts 9 rebs 2 blks   Snatched rebounds at the hoop and chased down the long ones. Stood tall for blocks inside and has good strength to defend post ups. Really active player who had a big steal with about 1:30 to go in the game after Gonzaga Prep got the defensive rebound. Also hit two big FTs to go up seven with 30 seconds to go.   [player_tooltip player_id='1631550' first='Nate' last='Christy'] | Gonzaga Prep | 19 pts 11 rebs 8/12 FG   Did a great job working patiently around the rim, utilizing jump hooks and powering up through contests under the basket. Also was pretty effective with the dribble. Had some nice baseline drives, curled some screens hard to the hoop, and was able to take a steal all the way for the breakaway bucket.   [player_tooltip player_id='1837706' first='Jack' last='Forbes'] | Richland | 26 pts 2 blks 12/17 FG   Excellent touch all game in and around the paint. Highly efficient with the short to midrange jumper and a powerful finisher off of two feet at the rim. Goes up high for finishes and rebounds, and also had a nice block up off the backboard. Super efficient finding space to operate and was quick with his decisions.   [player_tooltip player_id='1450498' first='Luke' last='Westerfield'] | Richland | 18 pts 5 rebs 1 blk   Started game off with a hard roll and two-hand slam off the nice feed from Woodard then continued to play solid inside going through defenders and taking the short jumpers when given space. Reached the 1,000 point mark in the fourth with a nice midrange from the baseline.
