<p>A lot of talented guards will headline the opening match-up as Columbus South will use the senior duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1678535' first='Maurice' last='McCall'] and LeJames Washington at the guard positions to run their offense this season. Gahanna has a breakout senior candidate in Kj Reynald with forwards like [player_tooltip player_id='1503899' first='Jonathan' last='Whiteside'] holding down the paint.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Newark Vs Cincinnati Taft 1:45 P.M.</h2>

<p>Newark, one of the toughest teams year in and year out will look to control the tempo against a Taft squad that can turn you over with their defensive pressure. [player_tooltip player_id='1225070' first='Steele' last='Meister'] leads the way with some guards like [player_tooltip player_id='1832081' first='Braylon' last='Morris'] who will have bigger roles after Grant Burkholder graduated. For Taft, they saw a lot of talent graduate but will always have athleticism, [player_tooltip player_id='2288368' first='DeMilian' last='Walker'] could be a sleeper to watch this year.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Walnut Ridge Vs Lutheran East 3:30 P.M.</h2>

<p>Lutheran East have been a participant in the state tournament for six straight seasons, they'll look to make it seven by starting their season with a neutral site contest with one of the more talented teams from the Columbus City League. Lutheran East is led by [player_tooltip player_id='1222354' first='Jesse' last='McCulloch'] but he also has a strong group of seniors like [player_tooltip player_id='1421137' first='Ronald' last='Taylor'], [player_tooltip player_id='1480840' first='Chauncey' last='Brashers'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1955296' first='Anthony' last='Bruce']. Walnut Ridge is led by [player_tooltip player_id='1222376' first='Dominique' last='Aekins'] and star freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2139998' first='Deon' last='Johnson']. Transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1223468' first='Lj' last='Foster'] also gives them another scoring punch.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pickerington Central Vs STVM 5:15 P.M.</h2>

<p>Pickerington Central has a new look team after winning a state title and then making the state championship game last season. [player_tooltip player_id='1222377' first='Juwan' last='Turner'] is one of the most experienced floor generals in the state. [player_tooltip player_id='1359618' first='Braylin' last='Wells'] adds some power in the paint defensively and the Tigers always have strong athletes that hit the weight room. The Irish will counter with a guard duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1919270' first='Jayson' last='Walker'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1742316' first='Noah' last='Chambers']. Junior big [player_tooltip player_id='1691977' first='John' last='Whorton'] will be a key piece in the paint for STVM.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pickerington North Vs Akron Buchtel 7:00 P.M.</h2>

<p>Second consecutive game where a Pickerington school is featured, this time it's [player_tooltip player_id='1432005' first='Arness' last='Lawson'] and the Panthers getting some primetime action. Lawson is one of the top guards in Ohio's 2025 class and has a couple of mid major offers. Akron Buchtel has reloaded after a state championship and [player_tooltip player_id='1359617' first='Zevin' last='Gadson'] is their star prospect. Gadson is back in Ohio and primed for a huge senior season with the Grifs, they'll have some other guards who will make their names known throughout the season as well.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Richmond Heights @ Reynoldsburg 8:45 P.M.</h2>

<p>Host Reynoldsburg wraps the night up with a battle with back-to-back defending state champions Richmond Heights. The Spartans come to Columbus with a loaded 2025 class with [player_tooltip player_id='1432015' first='Dorian' last='Jones'], DeErick Barber and [player_tooltip player_id='1432020' first='Demarris' last='Winters Jr']. Don't forget about 2026 transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1705953' first='Tj' last='Crumble'] as well to even further bolster their squad. The host squad has one of the most talented teams in the state with four Division I targets in Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='1432017' first='Jordan' last='Fisher'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1432037' first='Toby' last='Nwokolo'] and Sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='1705958' first='Jorden' last='Bowens'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1705956' first='Xavier' last='McKinney']. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1476382' first='Noah' last='Smith'] could be the glue guy for his team as well.</p>
