Another gridiron stud, Wells has blown up as a football recruit with offers from GMAC powers Thomas More and Ashland, recently Toledo became the first FBS school to offer Wells. On the hardwood, Wells also provides a lot of value with his rebounding and physicality in the paint. For a Pickerington Central team that has some impressive wins, the size and scrappy style Wells plays with brings an edge that they need. Wells and Adams could square off in the playoffs, a good big man battle between two of the more athletic guys in Ohio.

Wells came up clutch in their rivalry game against Pickerington North. He was rather quiet all night but in the 2nd half, especially the 4th he took over. He was dunking everything and was getting the ball at points no one else could get. He is strong and big and can jump out of the gym. He was really good at getting dump-offs from the guards and fishing it through the defense. He was also great defensively. He can guard any position. He was a great rim protector. He was blocking a ton of shots. He brought the Tigers a lot of energy and momentum when they needed it in a close game.

Pickerington Central and Lima Sr played a physical game where points were at a premium. Wells is a big-time athlete on both ends of the floor, able to defend the rim and grab rebounds above other forwards. With a team-high seven rebounds and game-high two blocks, Wells athleticism was on full display. Holding offers from a few levels on both the gridiron and the hardwood, Wells highest comes from Toledo for football but has been receiving interest for both sports to play at the next level.

Wells is a freak athlete. He started the game against Akron STVM with a monstrous two-handed dunk off an alley-oop. He simply can outjump anyone in the gym and for his size and length that is dangerous. He is a presence on the defensive end in the paint. He is a next-level shot blocker with an insane block radius. He had multiple great finishes for the Tigers as well which led him to being their leading scorer with 15 points. He had a dagger finish in transition to seal Pickerington Central’s win.

Wells dominated the second session with dunks, offensive rebounds and a couple 3-pointers. Just way too athletic for the competition to contain him, Wells showed off his athleticism in a variety of ways. No only did he have a few dunks and make plays in transition, Wells also slid his feet on guards and blocked a few jumpers as well. A talented athlete who shines for Pick Central on both the gridiron and the hardwood, it’ll be interesting to see which schools prioritize him for which sport. Talented enough to play either at the college level.

Another team with plenty of new faces is Pickerington Central, they might not have had the success Olentangy Orange had today, but Wells was a standout for the Tigers. A physical presence in the paint at 6’7, Wells can make an impact at both ends with his shot-blocking and rim pressure. Throwing down a couple slams in both transition and the half-court, Wells is looking menacing to rims in central Ohio. Even knocking down the occasional jumper, Wells will have an opportunity to be a leading scorer this winter. Starring on both the gridiron and hardwood, Wells should receive scholarship interest in both sports during his senior season.

Coming off the bench for the defending state champions can sometimes make a player lost in the shuffle. Wells is hard to miss with his play. Athletic and versatile. Wells could play either the 3 of the 4 with his length and understanding of the game. Showed solid footwork on the blocks and used his pivots and body to create in the low post. Defensively hedged ball screens well and overall was aggressive defending the rim and post. Wells is a name I’ve had issues determining what level he’s at, but his continued play shows me he could be a scholarship athlete for the right program.
