Another GMAC committed prospect, Meister is coming off an impressive football season and has rolled that momentum into the winter where he’s led Newark to a fast start. A strong forward who can play a variety of roles with his ball handling, decision making and body size. You know getting a prospect from the Newark program that they are going to be tough and typically Newark players don’t take long to adjust to the college level. Meister could be a spark needed for a Findlay program that has played freshman heavy minutes the past few seasons.

Meister was a bucket-getter for Newark on Saturday. He is in his senior campaign and he is showing his senior leadership ability because he never got flustered with Taft’s great athleticism and defensive ability. He showed leadership by example. He was calm and confident. He was scoring from every angle. His jumper is pretty and efficient. He has a good IQ and a feel for the game. His big body allows him to do damage from the inside and out.

Findlay has done an excellent job at targeting prospects and securing early commitments in the 2024 class, Meister is a mismatch nightmare from the forward position with a unique blend of change of pace, ball handing and strength. Coming from a Newark program that demands toughness and high effort, Meister will be ready for the college coaching he’ll receive with the Oilers. After a strong summer with Ohio United, Meister wasted no time making a commitment after receiving a pair of GMAC offers. Expect Newark to once again be a tough out come playoff time and give talented teams trouble with their style of play and discipline.

Meister impressed for an Ohio United squad that went 3-1 this weekend. A unique style of play, Meister uses his big frame and ball-handling ability to attack downhill relentlessly. Not afraid to throw his weight around, Meister will overpower defenders and also prone to having charges set on his drives. I also thought Meister’s effort levels were off the charts on Saturday. A kid who plays hard every time I see him, he was giving the extra effort in front of a handful of college coaches on Saturday. Meister also knocked down a couple triples which could help improve his offensive ceiling at the next level. I think Meister projects to be a mis-match nightmare at the small college level.
