A prospect who should be on a lot more regional scholarship radars, Copas is a guard who can help you win games. Leading his team to a district title upset last season and almost a huge upset over Bishop Hartley a few weeks ago, Copas isn’t afraid of the big moment. An underrated athlete with the burst to create for himself and very skilled with the ball in his hands, Copas is a prospect who could play right away at the Division II or NAIA level and make an impact. Currently holding an offer from Rio Grande, he could continue to elevate a program that’s been on the rise in southeast Ohio over the past few years.
Saint Ignatius is looking to win the ultimate prize and their size is a big factor in that belief that they can win it all. The senior duo of Samuel Springer Samuel Springer 6’7″ | PF Saint Ignatius | 2024 State OH and Robinson have been great defensively this season in the half-court. I thought from the summer to now, Robinson is more engaged on the defensive end, better at protecting the rim and overall more confident with the ball in his hands. Committed to play for his pops at Cleveland State, Robinson will have the opportunity to compete for minutes for a team that’s competitive yearly in the Horizon League.
Another small-town sleeper, Lovely comes from the most southern town in Ohio, South Point. An impressive athlete who can put up monster numbers at the high school level, Lovely had some big games at Midwest Live and I expected more scholarship interest to come after that event. He’s still flown under the radar and seems to be a prospect that regional Division II and NAIA schools in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia should be taking a look at.
A guy who played on the Prep Hoops Circuit and got better and better throughout the summer keeps rising up our rankings. Brunswick is playing like one of the top offenses in Ohio and it’s thanks to the skill and shooting ability of guys like Morgan. Everybody knows their role on the team and with the floor spacing the Blue Devils have, they are a tough offense to stop. Morgan has been committed to Hillsdale for a while now and they’ve had success with Brunswick players in the past, Morgan will look to continue that trend when he steps on campus in the fall.
Another GMAC committed prospect, Meister is coming off an impressive football season and has rolled that momentum into the winter where he’s led Newark to a fast start. A strong forward who can play a variety of roles with his ball handling, decision making and body size. You know getting a prospect from the Newark program that they are going to be tough and typically Newark players don’t take long to adjust to the college level. Meister could be a spark needed for a Findlay program that has played freshman heavy minutes the past few seasons.
