Newark is a program that breeds toughness and Stare is a perfect example of what their program is about. A player who battled through a ton of injuries, Stare made a big impact in the playoff run they went on this season. I like what Stare brings as an athlete and defending the ball on the perimeter. Also a standout on the track as a medium distance runner, it’s easy to see the speed and athletic build that Stare has when he competes on the hardwood. A player we’ve known about for a few years, it was good to see Stare produce during his senior season and make an impact.

The senior duo of Stare and Steele Meister Steele Meister 6'4" | PF Newark | 2024 State OH were huge as Newark wins another district title under one of the best coaches in the state in Jeff Quackenbush. Stare, who came off the bench as he’s only recently came back from an injury, was huge on both ends of the court. A strongly built kid, Stare played with good balance and off two feet. Tough to push off his spots when he’s attacking the basket, Stare found success getting into the lane and went to the free throw line off these drives a few times as well. Newark basketball preaches toughness and effort, Stare checked those boxes with a few hustle plays that gave his team extra possessions. When you have a culture as strong as Newark’s they are always going to be in the mix for district titles.
