Jones is a player that can truly do it all and whatever he wants on the court. He knows this as well and he usually makes some plays during a game that he can make but something that impressed me with his performance on Friday was his simplicity. He has efficient and simple buckets. He put the ball on the ground a limited amount but still put points on the board.

A school winning four straight state championships has never happened in Ohio, the Richmond Heights Spartans are looking to change that this season. Their 2025 trio of Jones, DeErick Barber and DeMarris Winters Jr haven’t lost a playoff game and move to Division V this season. Another state championship plus a big statistical could push Jones to the award, we mentioned earlier how being committed to the Buckeyes has a strong correlation with who wins the award. If I had to pick a top 3 candidates today, Johnson, Jones and West Jr would be my picks.

Recently announcing his commitment to new Ohio State Head Coach Jake Diebler, Jones had a strong performance on Saturday as he went 6/8 from downtown. I was only able to catch his game on Sunday where Jones continued to knock down perimeter shots (11 made 3-pointers in four games) and maybe the most encouraging thing I saw was Jones getting to the foul line, attempting five free throws the game I was at and seven free throws on Monday Vs Team Final. The shot-making and athletic upside give Jones some intriguing potential as an in-state recruit that has been prioritized by the Ohio State staff.
