Smith has all the tools of a college guard you want to have. He isn’t going to flat you with his skill but his athleticism, length, and willingness to defend set him apart. He has it all athletically; speed and quickness, strength, and leaping ability. That along with his length lets him be able to guard every position on the court. He can pressure the point guard the entire length of the court and then switch onto the big and make him earn every inch in the post. He also seemed to want and thrive on the defensive end. Offensively this weekend he did seem more confident and comfortable with his jumper and he was knocking it down showing some real 3 and D potential. He knows how to play the game and thrives in his role.

, it was Smith who had to knock down big time shots and take on a bigger scoring burden. After playing that role in the summer for Nova’s UA Rise 16 U squad, Smith is ready to explode onto central Ohio’s scene this winter in some big games that Reynoldsburg has on the schedule this winter.

Smith was impressive on a Nova-Martin squad that got more out of the individual pieces on the roster. This was a team that was bought in defensively and moved the ball well to win a lot of games on the UA Rise circuit. Smith fit well on that team as the recipient of good ball movement and able to take and make the open shot. Smith was also one of the more physical players on the team and uses this to score while driving to the basket. Reynoldsburg has a lot of size this season and could be one of the top teams in central Ohio if their young talent blossoms.
