Class 3A All-State Teams

First Team   Player of the Year: [player_tooltip player_id='956878' first='Brayson' last='Laube'], Marion (2023) Stats: 22.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.4 steals, 51.4 FG%, 41.5 3P%, 82.8 FT%   Any of the players on the first team here could make strong arguments for POY honors in the class, but we'll go with Laube, the most dynamic scorer of the bunch. The future Augustana guard is a fantastic three-level scorer who can create shots for himself and his teammates at a high level.   [player_tooltip player_id='956874' first='Colby' last='Collison'], Bondurant-Farrar (2023) Stats: 19.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 53.4 FG%, 35.0 3P%, 78.0 FT%   The leading scorer for the 3A state champions, Collison is a highly efficient wing scorer who can fill it up from all three levels. He's a high IQ player who understands his limitations and plays to his strengths on every possession. He uses his physical frame to bully his way to the bucket or post up smaller defenders for easy scores.   [player_tooltip player_id='956876' first='Chase' last='Henderson'], Hoover (2023) Stats: 21.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.6 steals, 45.8 FG%, 76.9 FT%   A quick lead guard who is headed to play his college ball at Montana, Henderson uses his speed to his advantage, getting to the rim routinely. He sees the floor at a high level and gets others involved. He's a good on-ball defender who uses his quick feet and hands to make life difficult for opposing ball handlers.   [player_tooltip player_id='1171695' first='Matthew' last='Noll'], Heelan (2024) Stats: 18.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 49.8 FG%, 77.6 FT%   A long, athletic 6-7 wing who does a majority of his scoring around the rim right now, Noll didn't shoot it as well throughout the high school season from deep as he did during the summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2075630' first='Martin' last='Brothers'], but he still found ways to control the game on both ends of the floor. He's a great finisher around the rim, rebounds well, and is a versatile defender and playmaker.   [player_tooltip player_id='1171685' first='Derek' last='Weisskopf'], Williamsburg (2024) Stats: 19.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.0 steals, 51.6 FG%, 71.3 FT%   A future Iowa football player, Weisskopf is one of the best athletes in the state. He uses his strength and athleticism to his advantage on the hardwood, getting to his spots whenever he wants, and he has really developed into a great all-around basketball player who can defend multiple positions, score inside and out, and create looks for his teammates.   Second Team   [player_tooltip player_id='1167689' first='Aidan' last='Yamilkoski'], Xavier (2023) Stats: 17.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.1 steals, 42.9 FG%, 41.3 3P%, 79.8 FT%   The leading scorer for the 3A runner-up team, Yamilkoski concluded a great high school career with his best season, showing his ability to score from all three levels, as well as an improved talent for creating his own shot and looks for his teammates.   [player_tooltip player_id='1171667' first='Joe' last='Bean'], Xavier (2024) Stats: 14.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.8 steals, 48.9 FG%   A physical lead guard with a tremendous feel for the game, Bean has great footwork and is willing to take smaller defenders down onto the block and either score or initiate the offense from that area of the floor. He's a skilled passer who sees the floor extremely well, and is a good on-ball defender. He's primed to have a big summer.   [player_tooltip player_id='1288863' first='Jaxson' last='Fried'], Bondurant-Farrar (2023) Stats: 16.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.1 steals, 53.4 FG%, 38.0 3P%, 72.8 FT%   The other big scorer for the state champion Bluejays, Fried is a 6-6 wing who can score from all three levels at a high clip, and he uses his length to impact the game defensively, getting into passing lanes and turning defense into offense. He was fantastic during the state tournament, helping Bondurant-Farrar wrap up an undefeated season.   [player_tooltip player_id='1376686' first='Jesse' last='Van Kalsbeek'], MOC-Floyd Valley (2024) Stats: 20.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.8 steals, 59.5 FG%, 42.0 3P%, 72.5 FT%   Van Kalsbeek was among the most efficient scorers in the state, scoring from all three levels with remarkable efficiency and putting up huge numbers for a Dutchmen team that was among the best teams in Class 3A all year. He can create shots for himself and his teammates.   [player_tooltip player_id='1167712' first='Travaughn' last='Luyobya'], Clear Lake (2023) Stats: 17.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 9.5 assists, 2.0 steals, 57.0 FG%, 70.6 FT%   Luyobya led the state in assists, dishing out 229 helpers throughout the year. He has always been a talented, pass-first guard, but he took his scoring up about five levels as a senior, using his quickness and tight handles to blow by defenders and get to the rim routinely to help give the Lions a reliable perimeter scorer.
