Expert Analysis
Tony Roe | Prep Hoops Scout
Anyone who watched Winterset’s quarterfinal win over Marion could see that Dinkla is one of the best competitors in the state, and he’ll have the reins of the Huskies this season all to himself. A scrappy lead guard who led 3A in total assists and ranked second in steals, he loves to attack the rim and finish through contact routinely. He’s tough, defensive-minded, and loves to get others involved. Sounds like a winning basketball player to me.

Dinkla has established himself as a fantastic defender and playmaking guard over the last few years, but he showed at the state tournament that he can also be a dominant scorer, putting up 26 points on 9-18 shooting in their quarterfinal win over Marion. He’s thin, but don’t let that fool you because he’s tough as nails and isn’t going to back down from anyone. He’s one of the best competitors in the state and with his ability to get others involved, get to the rim, and defend at a high level, he’s the type of player who is going to make any Division II, NAIA, or Division III program better.
