Expert Analysis
Rob Howe | Prep Hoops Scout
Signed with the Iowa Hawkeyes as a linebacker, it’s likely Weisskopf’s final time playing competitive basketball. He’s talented enough to help plenty of college basketball programs. The athleticism he possesses to succeed on the gridiron also shines though on the basketball court. It’s an impressive mix of strength with a balanced skill set. He can score from behind the arc or finish at the rim. He handles the ball and rebounds well with an ability to guard multiple positions.

Weisskopf is a fantastic athlete who uses his athleticism and strength to his advantage on both ends of the floor. A future Iowa linebacker, he’s tough and finishes really well around the bucket through contact. He has a really good mid-range game and knows how to get to his spots in that part of the floor. He’s also a strong, versatile defender who can bang with bigger bodies in the paint or move his feet against smaller players on the perimeter. He averaged 19.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.0 steals a game on 51.6% shooting as a junior.

If Weisskopf wasn’t headed to play linebacker at Iowa, he could’ve been a solid scholarship-level player on the hardwood. He’s a tremendous athlete who uses the combination of size, athleticism, and talent to be a dominant two-way player for the Raiders on the football field and the basketball court. He can take over games as a scorer, playmaker, rebounder, or defender. He absorbs contact well and finishes through it around the rim. He averaged 19.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.0 steals a game on nearly 52% shooting as a junior.
