Wayzata is going to be a tough top ten team this year but the question has been where is the depth for the team this year and what is coming up? Thomas Covert Thomas Covert 6'3" | SG/SF Wayzata | 2029 State MN surely answered one of those questions and maybe even both as Covert had an outstanding Sunday shooting the ball but also patiently scoring the ball later in the possession. A stronger wing and a mature looking young player.

Thomas was one of the top shooters I saw all day at camp, catching fire in the two games I was able to watch. He is very confident on shots from deep and did not need much space at all to let it fly. His teammates were looking to get him the ball once he got hot, as he could create space for himself off the ball or using pump fakes. Covert fits perfectly into the Wayzata scheme and I could see him as a very impactful varsity player in the coming years.

Covert made a monster impression. The toughness of the way he competed along with the skilled approach really stood out, I think he is a player that can help Wayzata sooner than later. Good shooter but a steady and tough all around player. Shot the ball really well from the perimeter and did a great job of creating space with or without the ball.

Thomas Covert Thomas Covert 6'3" | SG/SF Wayzata | 2029 State MN , a six-foot-three-inch 2029 Wayzata and Minnesota Fury guard shined in the 3v3 competition in space scoring off the dribble at will against his competition. In the 5v5 Covert displayed his floor stretching ability as a perimeter shooter, size advantage, court IQ awareness, and general above average skill and decision making.

Thomas stood out with his ability to finish through contact, using strength and balance to convert in traffic. He didn’t shy away from physical play, embracing defenders at the rim and still finding ways to score. His footwork helped him adjust mid-air and stay under control. That toughness made him a reliable option inside.
