Wesley made some heads up cuts to the basket, showcasing his finishing abilities and basketball IQ. He showed toughness on finishes around the rim, displaying good body control and strength when rising up for contested layups. Wesley is a versatile wing-guard for a talented MN Crossfire team. With his length at 6’1 he was able to defend a number of spots on the floor, and could do a little bit of everything offensively. Wesley could take a defensive rebound and then push the tempo to give his team transition opportunities, or bring it up and get them into their half-court offense. Throughout the weekend Wesley was draining threes at a high percentage, was cutting hard off the ball, and showed good vision to set up his teammates.

Wes shows up to the gym and is immediately a top performer. I’ve seen MN Crossfire 14U-Frederickson in three tournaments so far this Summer, so I’m very familiar with what Wes can do. I’ve written about him a few times and he warrants it everytime. He was consistent again at NHR State with averages of 16 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block per game per his Head Coach, Sam Frederickson. He opened up the tournament with a 27-point outburst on Friday night. Wes could takeover games and score 25+ routinely, but he’s unselfish and will make that extra pass to an open teammate.

Wesley is also a kid that could be mentioned every time I see him play. He’s Mr. Consistency in my book because I’ve never seen him have a bad game either live or online. If he misses a three or two, you can count on the next one falling for three points. He rarely has long streaks of missing a bunch of shots. He’s also a clutch performer and he nailed a big three late in the Shoot360 Fargo win. Wesley seems like he will be a very recruitable athlete when the time comes, with his intangibles and leadership he brings on the court, and he’s a big-time and consistent performer. MN Crossfire 14U-Frederickson can always count on Wes to perform.

The 6’1” guard/wing has some solid length and his offensive skillset was impressive as well. A skilled all-around offensive game where he showed poise, patience, and confidence. Watch below as he hits a sick fallaway jumper.
