Few 15u players were scoring the ball like Hogberg was in July. He was going 20+ on a regular basis and putting those points up in fast acting transition ways and bursting to the rim and fast finishing ahead of the help. One of a handful of Centennial young players that we think will really help the program take steps forward in the coming years.

Axel became a more consistent scorer this 15u season and you saw him produce both attacking the paint to creatively finish, and hit from the arc.

Has shown the knack to be a player that steps up as a clutch playmaker making key threes, creating off the attack, and finding ways to finish at 5’11 in the paint.

Axel put together an impressive performance against Minnesota Fury by relentlessly attacking the basket. He played through contact with confidence and consistently found ways to finish around the rim. Without the ball, he showed excellent instincts by making timely cuts that led to easy scoring opportunities. Axel is a high-IQ player who rarely forces the action and understands how to impact the game within the flow of the offense. His ability to convert difficult finishes makes him an effective slasher and a player every coach would enjoy having on the roster.

I enjoyed watching Axel play as both scorer and facilitator. His ball handling skills allowed him to be an effective passer. He easily got around defenders and found teammates in scoring positions. Most of the assists he made, led to positive outcomes for the Minnesota Heat Conyers 15u team. Axel used these same skills to score the basketball. In the game he was able to drive by his opponent and score at the basket. Axel made this happen on multiple occasions. He showed his ability to shoot the ball as well. When there was an opportunity to knock down three-pointers, he did so. Ultimately, finishing the game with four conversions from beyond the arc. He’s a hardworking player who gives maximum effort on both ends of the court. Axel is a player with tons of potential. With continued growth, he could become even greater.

Axel Hogberg – Hogberg the five-foot-ten-inch 2029 Centennial and Minnesota Heat Conyers guard went for 28 points making six 3-pointers against Mac Elite Friday Night in Indy. Hogberg showed aggressive driving from the perimeter and got all the way to the rim a couple times. Hogberg also found teammates a number of times for easy scores on quick interior passes.

Axel Hogberg Axel Hogberg 6'0" | CG/PG Centennial | 2029 MN – The six-foot 2029 guard from Centennial and MN Heat Conyers was very effective at the rim in the first half against MN Fury Kompelien. Hogberg was creative with his finishes around the rim. Later in the half Hogberg displayed his perimeter shooting skill hitting a long-range 3-pointer.
