Sophomore ID Camp – The Top Stock Risers

Next up is the sophomore stock risers, the 2029 talents that showed that not only do they have a nice high school basketball future ahead, but they are strong prospects as well.    White looks like a talent that is about to have a massive season for Blake and Coach Johnson.   When it comes to talents that can give a team some of everything, or a lot of everything, that is White. His ball skills are high level when it comes to ball handling, creation, and ball movement, and that's facing the basket or doing things with his back to the basket. White can play around the basket and in the backcourt, and his defensive abilities can be used on a number of positions. A top 20 level player in his class.     Speaking of a player about to take a big push to a higher level, that is [player_tooltip player_id='2855871' first='Royce' last='White Jr']. The length that White uses going at the rim is a big advantage and when he's slashing to the rim with pace he's a tough player to get in front of in a way that can contest him. White also shot the ball really well this weekend and it will be interesting to see if those percentages continue to carry over. Great impression made.     Reed is about to go from barely top 100 to the top 25-30 area. There is more to what Reed can do right now than expected. He can shoot the ball and has size but more than that, Reed rebounded well against other good size and his ball skills around the rim and on the perimeter were better than expected. A player to keep eyes on in a couple years when D2 schools start calling with opportunity.     Jensen needs some experience and when that comes I think a comfort that is going to set in and doors are going to open wide. Liam is a big kid at about 6'8 and he is a strong young man to go with it. Jensen always plays hard and when he moves to the rim with control he is too big for anybody his age to deal with (and in time, older players will have a hard time dealing with him as well). Definitely one of the better prospects with size in this class.     Another player with size that is really maturing and has a chance to be a nice prospect. A talent that should rise into the area of scholarship level player when the new rankings are released soon, and that comes because Zander has size, skill, and agility. Keep an eye on him at Eagan sooner than later, Zander is a talent to know.     Size is the theme of the day as we saw players with size mature and show that they are better prospects than they were as freshman. [player_tooltip player_id='2846221' first='Landon' last='Chambers'] is one of those names as well and the theme of what he did was a big agile frame that ran well, moves well laterally in help and off ball screens, and gets off the floor quick to board, finish, and contest. Comfortable facing the rim as a stretch big as well. The Lakers have older size that they will win a lot of games with but they also have future size in Chambers.     Wayzata is going to be a tough top ten team this year but the question has been where is the depth for the team this year and what is coming up? [player_tooltip player_id='2848213' first='Thomas' last='Covert'] surely answered one of those questions and maybe even both as Covert had an outstanding Sunday shooting the ball but also patiently scoring the ball later in the possession. A stronger wing and a mature looking young player.
