Adkins recently jumped to the No.1 player in the 2028 class, and the thing that separates him from the other guards in the state is the intensity with which he plays with. He takes every matchup personally and approaches every matchup with a chip on his shoulder, and that was on display this weekend. I heard he had a battle against Overland, and we saw him against both Denver South and Creek. He refuses to get scored on, he’s starting to see that 3-pointer start to hit at a consistent clip, and he knocked down a few in each game we saw on Sunday, and he’s a creative scorer around the basket. When he’s locked in, there aren’t many players in the state that can impact the game like he can, and he’s earned his spot.

Noah had possibly the biggest jump in the state this season as he made the move over to Denver East and went from averaging 7 points a game to 22.7 points per game as a sophomore. Noah led the entire 2028 class in scoring, but when you add in the fact that the lead the class in assists (6.5 apg) as well, he had one of the top seasons of any player in the state. What separates Noah from any other guards in the class is his ability to get his teammates involved. He’s a true point guard who handles pressure, breaks the press and double teams, and still manages to score at a high level. There wasn’t another guard in the state who had to do more for their team, and he delivered time and time again. He makes a strong case for rising in the rankings.

Adkins was super impressive running the point, showing strong command and feel for the game all weekend. His vision stood out, consistently finding teammates and delivering smooth, on time passes, highlighted by a creative alley oop off the glass. He controlled the pace and kept the offense flowing while still being a scoring threat. He was effective with his stop and shoot game, getting to his spots and knocking down shots in rhythm. When defenders closed out, he had the ability to rise up over them and score. Adkins’ blend of playmaking, creativity and shot making made him a standout at the point guard position

Adkins has been the go to and top performer for Denver East all season. He can score it at all three levels, handle the ball under pressure and create for others with sharp vision and timely assists. He’s tough getting downhill to the rim and finishes through contact, making him hard to contain. When Denver East needs a bucket, he delivers and his ability to score in bunches makes him a game changer in big moments

has powered the Denver East Angels with 21.6 PPG, 6.8 APG, and 3.1 SPG this season, ranking among the team leaders in scoring, playmaking, and defense. Known for attacking the lane decisively and setting up teammates in transition, Adkins consistently pressures defenses with quick ball movement and aggressive defense. Adkins’ scoring bursts and relentless energy have kept Denver East competitive throughout the entire season. One of Adkins’ strongest pieces to his game is shot creation, which he’ll continue to hone in on throughout the rest of his sophomore season.

I did not want to write about Noah as we have plenty of articles on him, but with the way that he’s playing right now, there are not many underclassmen, better yet, players, in the state that’s doing it at this level. Adkins is the No.1 scoring sophomore in the state right now at 21.6 points a game, and in January, he went on a tear. He finished in double figures in all 8 games and averaged 24 points a game for the month, including an explosion of 37 points and 31 points in both games he played against George Washington. He’s also looked elite as a playmaker who is trusting in teammates more, looks like a floor general, as well as the top defender in the state. January was a big month for him, and we noticed.

caps my list off on a strong note, as he’s been Denver Easts most emphatic playmaker thus far. Attaining 19.1 PPG, 5.6 APG, and 2.5 SPG, Adkins is a complete all-around guard who makes the game look seamless. While Denver East still has some work to do at 4-4, Adkins is the guard you want to lead throughout the rest of the season.

Adkins was a force for Denver East, especially in the second half when his team was trailing. He relentlessly pressured the defense from the point, attacking downhill and forcing defenders into tough decisions that often led to blow bys or quick pull up threes allowing him to finish with 23. Beyond his scoring and playmaking, Adkins showed excellent leadership, keeping his teammates engaged and confident. His ability to change the momentum and orchestrate a comeback when down big highlighted his poise, skill and importance

raises eyebrows during each game he laces up for, being a shifty guard who space creates with ease. Playing at his own pace, Adkins minimizes turnovers and makes precision passes on offense. He’s a guy who makes his teammates better when he’s on the hardwood. Coming up with 18 PPG, 6 APG off 46% shooting from the field, Adkins has proven his consistency and reliability for Denver East.

Adkins got approved to play this season, and that put East as one of the teams that could contend to win the conference. But with that comes a great responsibility that he must fulfill. Adkins has gotten off to a rocky start to the season, but has started to look more like himself in each passing game. East will need him to be great if they want to make a deep push. He’s looked more comfortable as he’s impacted the game in different ways. He’s coming off his best offensive game as he put up 17 points and knocked down 4 3-pointers. What I like about Adkins’ game is how he finds a way to impact the game in ways that are not only scoring. He’s leading the conference in assists, has notched at least 2 steals in each game, and fills up the box score. He’ll need to continue to lean on those things and be more aggressive on both ends of the floor for East to have a chance. He comes in at the No. 6 player in the conference and is an integral piece to the team.
