Hackley continues to be a player that I am intrigued by and I am really starting to see his game take shape because the game genuinely appears to be slowing down for him. He already had energy and defensive instincts that translated at the varsity level, but now the offensive side is starting to match it for the Tru Colorado team. He creates shots at multiple levels, plays through contact, and impacts possessions defensively. We’ve saw him challenge himself on that end of the floor and come up with blocks and steals and also be a player who steps up and fills holes in defensive rotations and we saw that even for that East team. What makes him intriguing long term is that he doesn’t need to score to be effective. He’s a game changer who understands that he’s out there to make winning plays and he looks prepared for a much larger varsity role moving forward.

Hackley had one of the more impressive weekends of any freshman that I was able to see and showed he’s ready for more responsibility. The game looks slow for him, and you can tell that he gets actual varsity minutes, which helps him in these situations. He consistently makes winning plays. Hackley was able to score at all three levels, created offense for himself, showcased himself as a created scorer, and impacted both ends with steals and blocks. Hackley brings undeniable energy, and I thought it would only be hustle, but now it’s starting to click for him offensively.  I’m curious to see how he looks by the end of the summer with more reps as the offensive guy who can also affect the game on defense as well. It was a stock-boosting summer for him. 

Hackley is the kind of player who makes his teammates better just by being on the floor. With exceptional court vision and awareness, he consistently finds the open man and keeps the offense flowing. He’s got a reliable mid range jumper and the explosiveness to attack the rim with authority, finishing through contact and creating highlight worthy plays. What makes Hackley really intriguing is his two way potential. As he continues to elevate his drives and scoring around the basket, his instincts and awareness could turn him into a dominant force on defense as well. Smart, athletic and unselfish, Hackley is a player whose impact extends far beyond the stat sheet and his trajectory is only pointing upward

Hackley made a statement as a true team player, consistently finding ways to impact the game through his vision and decision making. He displayed a reliable mid range game and showed the ability to finish effectively at the rim, combining touch and control in traffic. Hackley’s awareness, passing ability, and scoring versatility made him a well rounded contributor who impacted the game both as a facilitator and a scorer during the showcase
