Bobby Lopez | Prep Hoops Scout
Marshall continues to grow both physically and as a player, and his expanding offensive arsenal has been one of the more impressive developments this spring. He has established himself as a legitimate three level scoring threat, capable of knocking down shots from the perimeter, creating opportunities in the mid range and finishing around the basket. What stands out most is his effectiveness inside the paint. His footwork is advanced for his age, and he consistently uses strong positioning to create high quality scoring chances. Marshall understands how to seal defenders, find angles and stay patient when operating in traffic. As he continues to add strength and polish to his game, his offensive ceiling continues to rise

Marshall first caught attention last summer, but this past season he truly made the most of his opportunity at Denver East. Thrust into a bigger role as a freshman because of his size and team injuries, he responded with 7.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while showing steady growth throughout the year. His best performance came in a dominant 21 point, 10 rebound double double that highlighted the impact he can have on both ends. Marshall is effective inside, plays through contact and uses his physicality well when getting downhill to the basket. What makes him even more intriguing is the ability to step out and knock down the three. He also positions himself well on the glass and continues to show the tools of a versatile forward with plenty of upside moving forward

, as a freshman on varsity this past season, averaged 7.3 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 1.7 APG, and 1.1 SPG. With limited minutes so far, Marshall has already established that he isn’t fazed by the bright lights. At 6’3, Marshall utilizes his size to dominate the paint and gain separation on defenders. With plenty of time left in his high school career, Marshall will continue to evolve and develop his game into an all-around superstar. When his minutes and volume continue to increase this summer, you can expect promising performances from Marshall on a game-to-game basis.

You have to admire the battle in this young Denver East squad, which is still competing and coming up with some league wins despite being undersized and undermanned. They’re dealing with injuries and still figuring out ways to battle, and a guy who has really stepped up as we’ve gotten into league play is 6’6 forward,

. Marshall has checked off a lot of boxes and has answered the call for the Angels. He’s been battling inside; he constantly knocks down the 3-ball and stretches the floor, and he battles on the boards. He’s been putting up double figures in games, he has great hand-eye coordination and is grabbing tough passes and finishing, and seems to hit big momentum-changing shots. He’s a prospect who continues to rise for me and is getting better.

Marshall has stepped into East’s frontcourt and delivered as a freshman. He scores from multiple levels, rebounds in bunches, and doesn’t shy away from big moments. His 21-point, 10-rebound performance against the state’s top player showed his ceiling, and he’s been steady all season. His ability to stretch the floor with a lethal mid-range, which can extend out to the 3-point line, and also finish inside, gives East true balance. Marshall has earned a rise with his 7.1 points and 6.9 rebounds average on the year. Excited to see what the second half of the season brings.

Marshall is getting valuable minutes and playing beyond his years for East. He rebounds, screens, rolls, and finishes with soft touch, plus he’s stretching the floor by hitting a three in every game. To begin the season, he’s averaging 6.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2 steals as a freshman. He’s owning his role as the middle anchor, and East is benefiting from it. The speed and physicality of varsity hasn’t rattled him at all, and he’s positioning himself as one of the more promising young bigs in the conference. Great start to his HS career for Marshall.

Marshall really came on strong toward the end of the summer showcasing noticeable growth and confidence in his game. He’s a skilled ball handler for his position, comfortable creating off the dribble and getting to his spots. His natural shooting touch allows him to score from anywhere on the floor. What makes him tough to guard is his versatility, he can bang down low with bigger defenders yet still step out and space the floor effectively. As Marshall continues to progress, learning from the experienced teammates around him will only sharpen his feel and decision making. Focusing on strengthening his shot consistency and applying more defensive pressure on opponents will elevate his impact even further. With his size, skill set and growing confidence, Marshall is trending in the right direction and looks poised to keep climbing as his development continues
