KJ Miller
About KJ
Expert Analysis
Steve Parham | Prep Hoops Scout
Miller is a 6’6” lead guard who excelled at getting the ball out fast. KJ doesn’t over dribble much and advances the ball up the court which sets guys up for easier shots. Miller didn’t score much but he did hit a few from deep.

A SouthWest Prairie All-Conference selection, Miller has emerged as a young lead guard with a well-rounded skill set and clear upside. He’s a confident three-point shooter with deep range, a fluid athlete who can rise for dunks, and uses his length to disrupt passing lanes and contest shots on defense. With the ball in his hands he thrives, showing pocket passing ability and the feel to create for others. One of the more intriguing young guards in the area — already impactful, and just getting started.

Miller is going to be an intriguing prospect to watch grow. The Plainfield East point guard has grown to 6’6″, and with his size and position, he reminds me of young Michael Carter-Williams, only Miller has the deep range in his arsenal. His three-point shooting remains his biggest weapon, but he’s also shown the confidence to pull-up in the mid-range with tight coverage, and accuracy on his shot. He’s improving at attacking gaps in the defense and making more aggressive reads. Defensively, his length is a major asset—disrupting passing lanes, generating deflections, and contesting shots around the rim.
