Chartier has been on a tear early this season for a NE Storm team that has crazy size and length. The 6-foot-6 wing is probably his squad’s best shooter, and he continues to impress me with the difficulty of shots he’s able to take and make. He does a really good job moving without the ball—knowing when to slip, curl, or refuse screens, for example—but he also makes shots off the dribble with heavy contests from defenders. You just don’t see high school players (especially his size) with the ability to movement shoot like he can. Chartier also continues to get stronger and more athletic, which will help him potentially garner some scholarship interest moving forward.

While McClure wasn’t feeling it from deep, Chartier picked up the slack for Phillips Exeter. The 6-foot-6 wing is a total flamethrower and somehow keeps getting better as a shooter every time I see him. For his size, he does a phenomenal job getting his feet set and is a true movement-shooter when it comes to flying off screens and stopping short in transition while still getting his shot off quickly. He has a beautiful release, and he’s tall with long arms. Oh, and he’s continuing to grow as a closeout attacker and rim finisher, though some added weight and strength would be huge for him there. I’m very high on Chartier and think he’ll turn heads for NE Storm this spring.

Chartier looks like he has a case to be Phillips Exeter’s best player and showed an extremely well rounded skillset against BBN on Saturday. Offensively, he looks more athletic than he did during the AAU season and is certainly more aggressive and relentless when it comes to attacking. He also shoots the ball well and always seems to be in the right spot. High level D3 schools should be super interested in Chartier as a prospect who could turn into a star for them down the line.

Chartier, a floor spacing hybrid forward out of Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, showed out with his ability to knock down shots from behind the arc and attack bad closeouts as a rim finisher. Continuing a month-long heater from behind the arc, he showed a good understanding of how to get open off the ball and a budding ability to use a quick first step to get to the rim as a scorer. At 6’6″ with long arms and a lean frame, he has some nice tools on the defensive end of the floor that allow him to guard multiple positions and make plays in passing lanes that lead to transition opportunities.

There’s been a bit of buzz about Chartier recently, but still probably not enough. The 6-foot-6 wing is super skilled with the ball in his hands and can attack closeouts quite well — which he’s doing a lot because of how consistently and effortlessly he knocks down the three ball. He doesn’t have the prettiest looking shot but he gets it off quickly enough and makes it very often, so it’s clearly working for him. He should be a key player for Phillips Exeter this season and will definitely continue to develop as he’s only a rising junior. All levels of college basketball are on the table based on how he progresses physically and skill wise.

Chartier is a mile long forward who makes an impact on either end. He has some wiggle off the bounce and can motor his way to different spots. He did a nice job in finding different ways to score. Chartier showed some ability from behind the arc and place if he becomes a perimeter dead-eye from his ceiling can even get higher as a prospect. Hoping he can add muscle to his frame which would help him immensely when he goes off to college. He is tracking as someone who should be on the radar of scholarship programs.
