+48 (#170 to #122)

Belcher, a guard out of Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, jumped 48 spots to finish at #122 in the rankings. An attacking guard, the lefty does a great job of playing off of a live dribble to get into the paint, where he’s capable of making plays for his teammates or finishing with creativity. He’s proven to be a good decision maker that limits his turnovers, makes good reads with the ball in his hands, and has a nose for the ball on the offensive glass. Defensively, he moves incredibly well laterally, while also having good instincts off the ball, both of which contribute to his ability to generate steals at a high rate. He will head to Bowdoin in the fall to continue his playing career.

Belcher is a little thing KING! The 6-foot-1 guard is one of the more instinctive offensive rebounders I’ve seen at his size; he does an amazing job tracking the ball off the rim and simply operates as if he wants the ball more than his opponent. He has excellent hands, jumping ability and quickness, and he pairs those tools with phenomenal toughness and effort. The shooting is still coming along, but he can do enough offensively in terms of getting to the basket and making plays for his teammates to warrant him being on the floor with everything else he brings. He’ll be a fun piece for Bowdoin next year and will probably play some spot minutes for them if I had to guess.

Belcher is a DOG. He slides his feet like a madman defensively and can guard up multiple positions because of his strength and toughness. He’s an excellent rebounder for his size and knows his role, though some improved long range shooting would really improve his offensive game. Regardless, he handles it well and is super quick down the floor. Belcher is committed to Bowdoin next season and will be a nice little things guy for them with the chance to develop into more as he grows into his game.
