James, a senior out of Windham, wrapped up his career by proving to be the state’s top lead guard. A two-time state champion, he was maybe the most clutch player in the state and did a great job of balancing his scoring and playmaking responsibilities. His quick first step and creativity around the rim made him hard to defend, while his vision and quick decision making led to a lot of easy baskets for his teammates. Beyond that, he was one of the top steals creators in the state.

James, out of Windham High School in Maine, checks in at #29 among the point guards and #197 overall. James has done a lot of winning the last few years, playing a big role in Windham’s back-to-back state championship runs. A bit undersized, he’s another terrific processor that sees the game well and makes quick decisions with the ball in his hands. He’s incredibly quick end to end, delivers passes on time and on target, and uses a quick first step to get by the initial defender as a driver. He makes shots in catch and shoot situations and has some creativity as a finisher around the rim. He’s a solid on-ball defender that uses his quickness to his advantage, creating a high number of deflections and turnovers. He could step in and help a Division III program next year, but also profiles as a quality post-graduate candidate.

He’s a crafty scorer, makes good decisions when he draws the help defense, and can really knock down shots from behind the arc. On the other end of the floor, he competes at a high level and does a nice job of keeping opponents out of the paint.
