The South Florida native is headed for a post-grad year in the NEPSAC. Hoffman is a skilled combo forward who can score at all 3 levels and plays with a high motor. An incoming post-grad by way of Florida, Hoffman continued to establish a name for himself within the region while capping off a strong summer with his talented ALLBALL group. Hoffman impressed with his well-rounded plug-and-play skillset to go with elite size for the wing. At the expense of sounding cliché, he simply knows how to play, constantly working into the right spots on the floor to accumulate production and impact winning without needing his number called. Hoffman was efficient as an individual scorer, thriving off of cuts, putbacks, and clean catch-and-shoot 3s. That time of timely and efficient production at his size makes it easy to see why D1 programs have Hoffman squarely on their boards, especially when paired with his strong academic profile.

Hoffman, who will attend Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, comes to New England after a standout high school career in Florida. A 6’8″ forward, he has the ability to play in the paint or on the perimeter offensively, while showing good instincts on the offensive glass. He runs the floor hard in transition, can finish above the rim in space, and does a nice job of knocking down threes out of the trailer position. Defensively, he moves his feet well when switched onto the perimeter and is strong enough to defender forwards and big in the paint. Hoffman capped off a strong June with his first Division I offer, from Holy Cross.

He ran the floor well in transition and was frequently rewarded with high-percentage scoring looks as a result of his effort and activity. While much of his production came inside, he flashed the ability to space the floor and knock down perimeter shots when called upon. With his combination of size, feel for the game, and versatility, Hoffman is a prospect who should continue to draw interest from Division I programs.

Hoffman wasn’t a name I knew before this weekend, but he really surprised me with his play on both ends. The 6-foot-8 forward is a total workhorse on both ends of the court and does every single little thing you could ever want as a coach. He rebounds, gets loose balls, rim runs, and sets crushing screens, but he also has the skillset and length to finish in the paint when his rim running leads to easy looks. Phillips Exeter has tons of impressive players in their front court, but something tells me Hoffman is going to be extremely difficult to keep off the floor this year. He’s just a total winner who does all the right things.

The 6’7, versatile forward from South Florida recently scored his 1,000th point on a night where he scored 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Panthers. Hoffman has inside/outside scoring ability and can play multiple positions at the offensive end. His high motor also makes his a productive rebounder at both ends of the floor.

Hoffman is a forward with good positional size. He has an expanded offensive repertoire and isn’t afraid to show it off. He has no problem playing above the rim. Hoffman is effective driving baseline downhill. He has a trusty mid-range shot he has no problem pulling it out when needed. He uses his length to alter shots. Hoffman showed a great deal of patience and was able to use fakes. His best basketball is ahead of him.
