It is impossible to see everyone, but I was able to catch well over half of the teams at the event! Here is my Riverside Brookfield: Class of 2027 All Event Team! 1st Team Peoples lived up to what everyone had been saying. Strong, physical, and skilled shooting guard that is relentless getting downhill attacking the paint. He has a thick bodied 6'1” guard that has crafty handles and plays so well through contact. His spin move is next level in the lane as he was consistently putting opponents in a spin zone for buckets. Rebounds very well for a guard and is a plus passer with solid feel for an off guard. Did show some more vertical pop than we had seen in the past including a big dunk. Ultimately the question marks are the size and jumper as we didn't see him take one although the free throw stroke looked good. He has picked up multiple offers since the end of the event. Brown was absolutely filthy against Andrew on Friday. He dropped 30 points including the game winning bucket then sealed it with a steal for the win. Slender 6'0” guard who plays with a ton of speed! One of the fastest guards end to end in the state. His quickness along with body control at the cup are outstanding! He wins at will off the dribble with his handles and slithery drives. Soft touch finishing game along with using the glass. The perimeter shot making was what stood out the most in this game as he poured in threes and mid-range shots with consistency. Every time it left his hand it looked like it was going in. Kid is a competitive leader that was putting his teammates in positions to succeed. Dinnon went for 27 points in that same game that Brown went off. The top 25 prospect is one we feel is criminally overlooked in the 2027 class. Strong bodied and broad shouldered face up four that is one of the perimeter three point shooters in the rising senior class. That was on display as he drained four from distance showcasing a quick and clean release. He showed he has more in his bag with his shot creation in the mid-range, running the floor, and put it on the deck a little. Rebounded well in his area especially defensively. Lloyd continues to elevate his stock every time he steps on the floor in June pushing toward a top 5 ranking in our next update. Last weekend at Lindenwood we saw a well rounded game with his passing, rebounding, and defense. Lloyd at RB was looking to take over at will playing with a high-motor consistently. He was one of the most lethal scorers we saw at the event. Shot the ball at a high clip all week with his pull up threes along with turnaround mid-range shots. Set up the jumpers with his handles. Also pushed in transition playing above the rim with power and pop! Stasys has made a case for the #1 spot in a battle with Martin. He is going to be the go to guy for Benet and looked comfortable in that role over the weekend. Well built post that is an elite rebounder that is probably the best in the state at that skill. Offensively he showed he could put it on the deck from the mid-range, get to the foul line at a high rate, and throw down powerful jams. Good low post skill set with a step back in the mid-range. Quality post defender. What he showed decking it from the mid and high post was what boosted his stock. 2nd Team We saw Schroeder in two games and he more than lived up to lofty ranking. Was the best pure low post scorer at the event. Spin moves, shot fakes for drives, reverse layups, second jumps on the offensive boards, alley-oops, hook shots with each hand, and finished out of the dunker spot. Very skilled low post player who excels in pick/roll as well. Quality rebounder that plays with a high-motor. Martin is a flame thrower and a strong contender to move up to the vacated #1 slot. The Illini commit had his future coaching staff three deep on Friday while he did what he does best. Knock down spot up and off the move threes in bunches. Elite release and knows how to create just enough space for deep threes. Mixed in some turnaround Js out of the mid-post and got to the line. His size and elite shot will make him a Big 10 player down the line. Meyers had a big weekend in his first big stage being “the man” for the defending state champs. Really like what the playmaking face up four man brings to the table. Can stretch the floor with shooting off catch while decking it for scores through contact. Great feel in transition both getting downhill along with as a passer. Rebounds well in his area and we saw some growth defensively with an array of steals. Tobin was one of the breakout players of the event. Well built 6'2” shooting guard who has wiggle off the dribble getting to the cup for scores. His lights out shot making from the perimeter was what stood out from the jump. He has a lightning quick release while getting elevation off the floor. Plus plus shooter. Quality defender getting steals and taking charges. Could emerge as a D2 guy with his shot making and athleticism. Redento is a PHI favorite! What we love about his game is the versatility and stat sheet stuffing. He can play a number of positions and fit in a variety of different lineups. Long and lanky wing is a plus defender being able to check ones through fours with his athletic and physical tools. High level passer as a connective guy that makes those around him better each and every time out. Smooth handles and shot it well from three when we saw him. 3rd Team Marshall is a skilled and athletic combo guard who played mostly off the ball throughout the weekend. Best assets of his game are his speed, quickness, and athleticism. Gets to the rim, plays downhill in transition, and elevates for big jams. Can knock in the long ball. In one game we didn't see he dropped 37 points. Montgomery is a slick scoring combo guard for Crane that has a rangy frame. Like the quickness off the dribble beating his opponents on straight line takes for scores in the paint. Spinning layups and gets to the line. Pushes the pace in transition while being able to use hesitation in the half court. Crisp mid-range shooter that shows some quality on ball defense. Jones shined at Lindenwood and then matched that play again at RB. Elite burst and athleticism with the rock in his hands. He is a blur with the ball using his burst to score in the lane. Also caught multiple lobs off baseline out of bounds plays. Crisp shooter from two and three both pulling up and off the catch. Pesky defender on the ball. One of the best players in the metro east heading into the season. Rocca is a winner! He contributes to winning in a number of ways. Offensively he sis a crafty driver that wins off the dribble finishing through contact in the paint. Strong slasher that also gets on the glass. Flashes as a passer and is a capable spot up shooter. Stephens is a linebacker playing basketball with his massive frame and speed. What stands out about him is the power getting in the lane on bully ball drives along with his nimble footwork maneuvering in the paint for scores. Spin move is one of his favorite finishing moves along with euro steps. Rebounds well for a wing and did show some decent passing. He is going to have to carry a heavy load for Kenwood this season. Carpenter is a two guard with a wiry frame and plus shot making! Knocked in threes while also pressing the issue in the open floor scoring in transition. The passing was what caught our attention the most from a growth standpoint as he made nice reads in ball screen situations. Miller struggled at times during the event, but turned it up a notch in the last game against Lyons where he shot it as well as he did all weekend. Long and lanky combo guard that poured in feathery deep balls especially from the wings. Knocked them down off the catch, DHO's, and pulling up draining five in the game along with flashing some of the live ball passing which makes him so intriguing! Scouts and college coaches would like to see him play with more of a consistent motor because when assertive he is a big time player!
