Stasys also made his case for the top spot in 2027. He brought his A game with his combination of athleticism finishing above the rim, rebounding, defensive instincts, and being able to put it on the deck as well. He showed more of a face up game including stretching for threes in addition to his improved ball handling.

When I watched Benet play for the first time last year in June I had the chance to see the championship caliber team compete multiple times within 2 weekends. Stasys stood out immediately then because of his versatility and high IQ throughout the games I saw. Since then he’s continued to build upon those foundations to be even more of a threat. His length and size creates mismatches because he moves so well at 6’8. He can guard multiple positions defensively. At the elite next level in college, it will be interesting to see whichever program gets him what they will slide him into. For now let’s all enjoy 1 more year of getting to see the bright talent from Benet play in high school.

Stasys has made a case for the #1 spot in a battle with Martin. He is going to be the go to guy for Benet and looked comfortable in that role over the weekend. Well built post that is an elite rebounder that is probably the best in the state at that skill. Offensively he showed he could put it on the deck from the mid-range, get to the foul line at a high rate, and throw down powerful jams. Good low post skill set with a step back in the mid-range. Quality post defender. What he showed decking it from the mid and high post was what boosted his stock.

Hands down one of the better bigs in attendance all weekend. Long and active, Stasys played with a motor on both ends and rebounded well outside of his area, consistently getting his hands on 50/50 balls. Ed had a knack for finding openings on the interior and finished effectively with either hand, even through contact. He also put consistent pressure on the rim as a lob threat, showing he could go up and get it while finishing well above the rim. On the defensive end, he showed good mobility, protected the rim, and did a solid job walling up inside — forcing opponents to finish over the top and settle for contested looks.
