Jones and the Flyers started out my weekend slate with the first of over 30 contests that I took in. There were plenty of good guards at Ridgewood but when we talk about superior specific point guards, Jones would be at the top of that list from the 60+ teams I saw. Offensively he went spin move off defender to get to cup, in and out dribble then hesitation for blow by, and continued to attack via baseline or from wing to penetrate gaps. Showed athletic ability at the rim for a couple of tough scores over bigger bodies as well. To say the least Jones is a tough out to stay in front of and will provide tons of value as a true floor facilitator during senior season.

Jones carried the Flyers in their game against Neuqua Valley recording 24 points in the loss.  Capped off a monster month with a quality outing at Ridgewood.  Elite level athlete that is so quick with the ball in his hands pushing in the open floor and quick burst off the bounce.  Shot it particularly well in this game draining a plethora of pull up threes along with mid-range shots.  When he is shooting that well he is among the best lead guards in the state.

Jones shined at Lindenwood and then matched that play again at RB.  Elite burst and athleticism with the rock in his hands.  He is a blur with the ball using his burst to score in the lane.  Also caught multiple lobs off baseline out of bounds plays.  Crisp shooter from two and three both pulling up and off the catch.  Pesky defender on the ball.  One of the best players in the metro east heading into the season.

East St Louis guard has a strong physical guild and showed he can really change the tempo vs Bolingbrook. Does not fear larger defenders as he found his way on the inside quite a bit against Bolingbrook. Also showing he can finish with both hands in tight windows. Then showed some bouncy with a put-back dunk while snagging tough boards on both ends. Probably one of the best rebounding guards I’ve covered in his class.

Jones is a junior guard who has elevated his stock with a strong second half to the season.  Quick off the bounce living in the lane for spinning layups, turnaround jumpers, and athletic finishes.  What also really impressed us in this game was his vision finding guys off live dribbles on a consistent basis as he notched 8 points in the win.  Has helium heading into spring!
