About Cahlil
Expert Analysis

Cahlil Jones competed as an unsigned senior with Rod Wave Elite, playing with and against a lot of D1 competition. Despite his team coming up short against Team Herro , Cahlil came up huge in the first half as he hit a pair of three point shots. Throughout the weekend he continued to flash that shooting touch, but really stood out with his explosive finishing in the open floor. Cahlil is one of the best athletes in the state’s 2026 class, and was someone who seemed to add to his game every year at Germantown.

Cahlil, the top uncommitted 2026 prospect left in Wisconsin, showcased his full game in front of his home state. The 6’3” shooting guard is very athletic and can stretch the floor, which are two traits a college program would love to have. He was a high effort and high energy defender, forcing many turnovers that led to easy baskets for his team. Jones also got loose in the open floor for a couple slams.

It’s hard to understand how Jones can have just one scholarship offer to date — a NCAA Division II offer from St. Cloud State. His athleticism, ability to get to the basket and improved long-distance shooting should lead to additional offers for the 6-foot-3 wing prospect. Jones had 25 points and a couple of nasty dunks for Germantown in its win over Sheboygan North. He also drilled a three-point attempt and got to the foul line, where he made four-of-five attempts. One of the state’s best uncommitted seniors, Jones is looking to have a big second half of his season to help the Warhawks become a player in the rugged Greater Metro Conference.

Cahlil made a strong name for himself on Saturday with a standout defensive showing. He brought relentless energy on that end of the floor, consistently applying pressure — particularly against primary ball handlers. He often took the initiative to pick up full court, generating multiple deflections and steals that led to transition opportunities where he truly excels. In the open floor, Cahlil’s athleticism was on full display as he pushed the pace and finished well above the rim. He also made a significant impact on the offensive glass, creating numerous second-chance opportunities and scoring through heavy contact in the paint.

A big name in the Greater Metro Conference, Jones still is hoping to land his first scholarship offer. He has upcoming visits to NCAA Division II schools in Michigan Tech and St. Cloud State, and could end up with offers from both schools. The explosive 6-foot-2 wing guard also has interest from some Division I programs, including Milwaukee and Western Michigan, among others. He had a strong showing on the Puma circuit with Chapman Basketball Academy and is a terrific athlete with growing shooting skills. Jones had a strong junior campaign at Germantown, averaging 20.2 points and 4.9 rebounds for the Warhawks.
