EYBL Vegas: Skilled 17u Wings and Forwards

LAS VEGAS — EYBL made its lone west coast stop last weekend at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Nike-based circuit had its teams inside a 20-court facility as some programs sharpened up for Peach Jam and others battled it out to earn a spot in the summer's most prestigious club/travel event. Below are the most skilled 17u wings and forwards we watched, including prospects from the Southern California region.    The question with Williams' game is: "what can't he do?" The 6-foot-8 wing/forward is in the running for most physical and explosive athlete in the country, has a dribble, pass and shoot skill-set and has potential to be an elite perimeter defender and positional rebounder. Williams is a high-flying transition finisher, rhythm jump shooter in the mid-range and a quick-twitch face-up driver and finisher. His best performance of the weekend came on a 23-point, 12-rebound effort in a win over Team United.     There are few prospects in the class more skilled offensively than Rosser. Pushing 6-feet-10 with a long, wiry frame and a smooth gait, Rosser is a floor-stretching, rim-running and face-up scoring threat. His threat as a paint finisher off cuts and lobs opens up his fluid catch-and-shoot three and off-bounce driving ability. Rosser's most productive game was 30 points and nine rebounds in a win over Brad Beal Elite.     Henry (sort of) counts as a California guy after spending a year and change at Santa Ana Mater Dei prior to his move to AZ Compass Prep. Either way, The 6-foot-7 wing was one of the most impressive prospects on the floor in Vegas. Henry boasts a smooth left-handed jump shot and is at his best when putting the ball on the floor and stepping back to his right. His impact on the defensive end was that of a rebounder and multi-positional on-ball perimeter defender. Henry recorded two double-doubles on the weekend and nearly averaged one at 21 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.     Nesmith has a natural flair for the dramatic that usually leads to a highlight-reel play that the explosive 6-foot-5 wing shrugs off as just another day in his world. Nesmith bounces around the floor with a flow and ease of an elite basketball athlete and uses that pop and shiftiness to break defenders down in isolation where he can get to the rim for a dunk or a high-elevation mid-range jumper. He also showed some impressive passing feel and defensive instincts over the weekend.     Condon was one of the the better jump shooters in the event as he connected on nearly 40 percent of his 8.3 three-point field goal attempts for the session. The sturdily-built 6-foot-7 forward has the size and skill-set to play both the three and four spot and thrive in those roles on both sides of the floor. Condon isn't just a shooting specialist, either, as he showed straight-line drive finishing ability and strong two-footed finishes in the lane.     Mitchell made this list mainly due to his passing ability but his overall offensive versatility is wrapped up into that, as well. The burly-framed 6-foot-7 forward displayed his vision as a trigger guy at the top of the key where he found cutters in stride, hit open shooters in stride and was really effective freeing up ball handlers with screens. Mitchell averaged 10.5 points and four assists during Session IV.     Jordan has an uncanny combination of explosive athleticism, smooth ball-handling ability and inside-out scoring ability that makes him one of the most sought-after prospects in the 2027 class. The physical 6-foot-6 wing is most effective as a transition threat where he fills lanes for slashing above-the-rim finishes and plays in trail situations where he can pull-up and knock down perimeter jumpers or attack the rim off the bounce. Jordan's best game was a 22-point effort on 9-for-16 from the field.     Kamissoko's high level of energy and activity led to him being a stat sheet stuffer in Session IV of EYBL. The versatile 6-foot-8 wing had multiple games where he dished out six assists and it was his rebound and push ability that sparked those opportunities to create. Kamissoko also slashed his way to the rim for high percentage finishes on the break and was good for a couple of catch-and-shoot threes per game, as well.     Kitt brought tons of offensive versatility to the floor in addition to having one of the highest motors we saw on the weekend. The 6-foot-6 wing is both physical and explosive as an interior finisher and got into those positions on drives from the wing, timely cuts in transition and half-court offense and when ripping and driving by defenders in face-up situations. Kitt averaged 21 points on the weekend, including a 29-point effort against Oakland Soldiers.     Brunson jumped off the court with his elite motor, fierce finishing ability and drive and slash game with or without the ball in his hands. The wiry 6-foot-6 lefty set-up his drive-and-finish game with a smooth catch-and-shoot three ball that he didn't shoot often but connected at a 44.4 percent clip. Perhaps Brunson's biggest impact was on the defensive end where he used his length, speed and reaction time to disrupt passing lanes and jump-start fast break opportunities.
