About Malachi
Expert Analysis

Jordan stood out in both the 4 on 4 half-court and 5 on 5 full-court games. Aggressive getting downhill to the rim, Jordan used a stutter rip to get past a defender and score, was consistently playing stronger than opposing wings when driving to the paint and knocked down a corner catch and shoot 3-pointer. Physically, Jordan was one of the top athletes at the camp and his upside is obvious whenever you watch him play. If Jordan is consistently productive over the next 12 months, he will make a push for a top 10 national ranking.

Athlete of the night. Malachi was everywhere on the court Saturday night against Veritas. From rebounding, blocking shots, to shooting threes, Malachi seemed to be able to do whatever he wanted against Veritas. He can switch to shooting guard and rotate at Center without any size or athletic gap in between. Plays strong and looks about 2 inches bigger than his listed height. The most impressive part is that he is very comfortable at the FT line; it looks like home to him on his face. If Malachi’s handles and postup game continue to get strong, the charity strike will be his forever home.

Another highly-touted member of the Dream City rotation, Jordan was among the more dynamic wing playmakers we saw all week. Previously more of a hard-charging downhill threat as an underclassman, the Tennessee native has made impressive strides as a shooter, ballhandler, and shot-creator from the perimeter. He showed a reliable high-release jumper both off the catch and dribble while still displaying his trademark strength and athleticism on a handful of rim attacks. We’d like to see him be conscious of continuing to apply his vast physical tools to the floor game, but the growth in his skillset should pay dividends for Jordan moving forward.

Has a good skill set. Agile in the post and as a pick-and-roll finisher with impressive body control. Capable of handling and creating for himself. Shows some creativity with his footwork. Has a soft touch around the rim and even extends out to 3. Defensively impact the game as a rim protector when locked in and operating at maximum intensity thanks to his reach, timing and quickness. Also capable of switching on the perimeter with excellent mobility.

A dominant athlete, Jordan has tremendous upside due to his size, frame and explosiveness. Jordan played strong with some interior finishes and went to the foul line on a poster dunk attempt that just missed. Flashing some perimeter ability with ball handling and jump shooting, Jordan is at his best when he’s in transition right now. A name that some of the top teams in the country could be involved with, Jordan has NBA upside if he continues to develop.
