About Bruce
Expert Analysis

Branch had a big first half with a couple mid-range buckets and also getting to the rim off the dribble. When Montverde went into a 2-3 zone for a possession, Branch also scored off a quick hitter action for a layup. I wish Branch could’ve gotten more looks in the second half as Prolific struggled to get easy looks all game long.

Bruce is another big wing with a smooth jump shot and elite defensive capabilities. Bruce has a pure outside shot with great shooting mechanics. He was the best spot up shooter i seen all weekend and is always in good spacing on the floor. He has sneaky athleticism and can rise above the rim for put back dunks. He is a great slasher and stays active off the ball. With his versatile ability on defense he can guard wings and guards. Bruce was one of the better off ball players that i seen all weekend and doesn’t need to create his own shot to score.

One of the elite seniors in the country, Branch showed just why he’s so highly-regarded in a dominant effort to help Prolific put away a feisty Royal Crown group. The versatile swingman was hyper efficient with his touches and shot selection, needing just 13 shot attempts for his 31 points. He thrived both with and without the ball, spotting up as a dangerous threat from the perimeter, slipping screens to make plays going downhill, or operating off ball screens with pace and skill. Branch looked like he may have added an inch to his frame since earlier this season while continuing to fill out in his upper body and add athleticism to make him a more dynamic finisher around the rim. The McDonald’s All-American projects as a likely one-and-done talent with potential to hear his name called in the lottery.

A 2027 prospect who reclassified to the 2026 class in hopes of getting to the NBA a year earlier, Branch III is one of the most complete players in the country and was named a McDonald’s All American. With the jump up from 2027 to 2026, Branch III will need to make a college commitment quickly with many top high major programs still heavily pursuing him.

Our top ranked prospect nationally, Branch had an excellent summer with the Compton Magic showing high level physical traits and long-term upside. Positionally, Branch has a long wingspan and can defend multiple positions on the court. His two-way impact is currently one of the biggest driving forces for his high ranking and I expect his impact to continue at Prolific Prep this season playing alongside some extremely talented prospects.
