Charlie Hughes Showcase – Class 4A Undefeated Teams

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 21st annual IHSAA/IBCA Charlie Hughes Memorial Showcase tipped off on Friday. There are 210 teams competing across over 350 games between Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. and Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. Prep Hoops Indiana will have boots on the ground coverage the entire way from the opening tip until the final buzzer. Only 17 teams went 4-0 on the weekend with six more finishing 3-0 due to losing a game on Saturday morning with the power outage at Westfield High School. Here are the Class 4A programs that had a perfect weekend in the win column.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:separator --> <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" /> <!-- /wp:separator --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Carmel Greyhounds</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The host Greyhounds had a very impressive performance at the Charlie Hughes Showcase. Indiana Junior All-Star point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2140341' first='Cash' last='Daniels'] is the head of the snake for them setting the pace offensively and bother the ball all over the floor defensively. Rising senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2560647' first='Vincent' last='Nover'] stepped up as a primary scoring threat while rising senior wing [player_tooltip player_id='2887162' first='Joshua' last='Henderson'], a transfer from University, provided two-way versatility. Carmel will once again be a team to beat in Class 4A.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Decatur Central Hawks</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This team broke through to the Class 4A South Semi-State last season and, despite losing some height in the front court, should be a very tough team to beat once again. Decatur Central features a three-headed monster in the backcourt featuring rising seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2560619' first='Makeil' last='Baker'], [player_tooltip player_id='2194347' first='Devin' last='Colbert'] Jr., and [player_tooltip player_id='2140420' first='Nash' last='Sigmund']. Rising junior wing [player_tooltip player_id='2539816' first='Lavell' last='Love'] serves as a two-way X-Factor on the wing. There is a lot of firepower within that group.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Fishers Tigers</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Per usual, this team found ways to win and turned in a 4-0 weekend. [player_tooltip player_id='2267046' first='Jason' last='Gardner Jr.'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2140345' first='Cooper' last='Zachary'], now seniors, are 83-3 while sharing the Fishers' backcourt. Alongside fellow rising senior [player_tooltip player_id='2470635' first='Levi' last='Walker'] and rising sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2860080' first='Tristan' last='Breland'] and [player_tooltip player_id='3666055' first='Max' last='Hopkins'] there is plenty of talent to go around once again. They reached the Class 4A Final Four last season and return their young nucleus of rising junior [player_tooltip player_id='2382148' first='Noah' last='Washington'] and rising sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2888227' first='Karson' last='Stoudemire']. Rising senior guards Ashton McKee and [player_tooltip player_id='2125697' first='Reece' last='McKee'] have proven to be very important pieces throughout the summer as well. What the Bulldogs did at the Charlie Hughes Showcase while playing without Washington was incredibly impressive.
