This athletic, 6’3″ wing for Decatur Central played very well against Pike on Tuesday night. Love was aggressive off of the bounce, creative at the end of his drives to finish against size, and really crashed the glass at both ends of the floor. His length and athleticism really lends itself to him being a good rebounder from the perimeter. He had a lot of success scoring in the intermediate range and at the rim due to his consistency of playing off of two feet. Look for him to really blossom as a junior at Decatur Central.

Even within our Top 25 prospects there aren’t that many having immediate impacts at the varsity level in Class 4A. Love is very thin and not the biggest guard in the class today, but his frame is very projectable. He will grow a couple of more inches and fill out into an impressive two-way guard. His willingness to rebound, 4.5 rebounds per game, is very impressive at his young age. Love also scores 7.9 points per game for the Hawks.

Love scored 16 points while pulling down 7 rebounds to lead Decatur Central over Speedway in the Marion County Tournament on Tuesday evening. Then, the 6’1″ guard had 13 points and 4 rebounds in the quarterfinals as the Hawks fell to eventual champion North Central 72-58.

One of two Decatur Central High School freshman that we have mentioned now through this series, Love was a big time scorer at the middle school level and could be a guy that finds some time right away at the varsity level. He shoots it well from beyond the arc and has the length to extend and finish at the rim. Love is a talented all-around scorer that will join a very young, but talented backcourt for the Hawks.
