The 2025-2026 season is coming to an end on Saturday with the State Finals being played at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Barr-Reeve and Princeton were the only teams that's represented the Pocket at the Semi-State. It was an historic season for the Pocket City with as much talent as there has been in quite some time. This article features 10 of the top players in the Pocket City making up First and Second Team along with Honorable Mention Nominees:

The junior guard has led the Barr-Reeve Vikings to a Class 1A State Championship for the first time since 2021. The junior guard has been a key cog leading the Vikings all season. 12 games on the season of 15+ points. He's an all around scorer that can get it done on both ends of the floor. He's shifty getting into the lane and has been a proven scorer around the basket as well as being able to get his shot off while being heavily contested. Knock down three-point shooter that proved to be not only one of the better scorers in the area, but as valuable to his team as any player in the area.

The 6'6” transfer guard from Memphis jumped onto the Southwest Indiana scene during last June and immediately became one of the best overall players in the area. His size and skill to go along with relentless motor helped get Bosse back to the regionals. Has multiple Division I offers, he has the ability to play the game for a very long time if he keeps progressing the way he did throughout the year.

The SIAC Player of the Year out of Evansville North was a huge part of the Huskies success all season long. As versatile of a player as there is in Southwest Indiana, the 6'6” Senior is capable of putting the team on his back and leading the to a win with his scoring, but also showed he's willing to do the dirty work in rebounding as well as a big time defender. If the unsigned senior plays at the next level, there's no doubt he will have a successful career.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560964' first='Edwin' last='Holmes'], the Princeton and Indiana Junior All-Star, who very soon could be an Indiana All-Star is one of the best and most consistent players I have gotten the privilege to cover in the Southwest Indiana Area. Back to Back regional championships with the Princeton Tigers, Holmes is an inside-out presence that impacted the game on both ends of the floor. The unsigned senior is an unselfish player that scores, rebounds, and facilitates at a high level. Whatever school he decides to attend is getting a proven winner and an impact player the moment he steps on campus.

The inside-out junior forward is coming off a monster year where he cemented himself as one of the big men in the in-state class of 2027. Has been apart of three consecutive sectional championship teams, his role has increased each year as he has become impactful on both ends of the floor with his size, length, and skill. He's a fluid athlete that is capable of dominating on the offensive side of the ball from inside the paint as well as from the perimeter. He has taken Division I visits to Bellarmine and Eastern Illinois. Expect him to have a breakout summer with Kentuckiana Hoops AAU as well as a strong senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560987' first='AJ' last='Foster'] had one of the better senior seasons in the Southwest Indiana Area. As the leader of the Loogootee team, he's an athletic combo guard that gets it done on the offensive end in a variety of different ways. He's a capable three-point shooter at 36%, but thrives getting downhill where he plays through contact well and finishes at a high clip. The unsigned senior is still looking for a spot at the next level.

The Sophomore Transfer from Decatur Central made his presence felt all season long for Regional Champions Princeton Tigers this season. The silky smooth guard showed his ability to play on or off the ball and made big time plays when the lights were brightest this season. Really good three-point shooter even though his numbers don't necessarily show it. He shoots an effortless shot with deep range while also showcasing his ability to get in the lane and finish with craftiness around the basket as well as creating looks for his teammates. Quintyn will be a premier player not only in the Southwest Indiana Area, but the entire state.

One of the more nuclear scoring guards in the area, [player_tooltip player_id='2172596' first='Marrius' last='Harris'] finished his two year stint at Evansville Bosse as one of my personal favorites to watch every game I covered. The long and athletic guard is crafty with the ball in his hands and is a scorer from all three levels. He's always in attack mode and has evolved from a tough shot taker into a tough shot maker. He gets in the lane with ease and uses his length well to rise up over defenders in the midrange or finish around the basket with either hand. The unsigned senior has a couple Division I offers and will be a valuable addition to any program at the next level.

The physical Junior Forward out of Heritage Hills made my All-Junior list of players that impressed in games I got to see them. He expanded his game this season becoming more comfortable on the perimeter. Capable three-point shooter, but did most of his damage around the basket 15-feet and in. He's an aggressive scorer that can face up and drive or play with his back to the basket. Along with his face up game, he became a comfortable passer out of the mid-post and when doubles come. He will be the leading returning scorer for an experienced Heritage Hills team next season.

The 6'5” Evansville Reitz Senior has recently announced he is reclassifying to the 2027 class and will attend a post grad school. [player_tooltip player_id='2466252' first='Preston' last='Tolliver'] was one of the most improved areas in the area from his junior to senior season. He's an explosive athlete that plays with a high motor on both ends of the floor. High level rebounder that has transformed his game from a garbage basket player into a legit go-to scorer with the ability to stretch the floor off the catch. He's a high potential, hard working player that will play with the Indiana Jammers on the Under Armour Circuit this summer.
