Senior guard that has had an exceptional spring with his Progeny team is looking to step into a new role for the Titans with the graduation of their point guard. The 6’2” Runyan is a talented guard that can do a little bit of everything on the offensive end. Excellent stationary shooter and has well as off the move. Has developed a middle game off the dribble where he can stop on a dime and rise up. Willing passer with improving playmaking for others.

Runyan had an excellent weekend shooting the basketball which is exactly what he is known for coming out of Gibson Southern High School. The 6’2″ guard made half of his three-point shots (nearly five attempts per game) and averaged 12 points per game while helping lead Progeny UA Rise 17u to a perfect 5-0 weekend. He is an under-the-radar prospect that small college programs should be watching heading into the summer.

Runyan was just named to All Southwest Indiana Team for his outstanding high school season. He’s a combo guard that can flat out shoot it off the catch while being a playmaker on the ball that can get in the lane and create plays for himself and for others. He’s a high energy, high IQ guard that makes winning plays.

We had boots on the ground to see Runyan score 20 points and connect on three fourth quarter three-point shots, including a deep one to tie the game Thursday. However, Gibson Southern lost that one at the buzzer 62-61 to Hamilton Heights. The Titans bounced back though on Saturday and defeated Evansville Memorial 71-56 with Runyan scoring a game-high 23 points.

Smooth shooting combo guard had it going today in both games at the Pocket City Fall League. High IQ player that impacts the game on both ends of the floor. Knock down shooter that got hot and was practically unguardable. Was able to score from all over the court. Hit back to back threes and instead of a heat check, he drove a close out from the left corner for a bucket inside. The confidence just keeps growing game after game for the junior out of Gibson Southern.
