Las Vegas -</em></strong> I was able to catch a couple of the Wildcats games during the Border League Summer League. Although they lost Tayshaun Jackson to graduation, they will have another shifty PG at the helm in Jacory Boyce this season. In addition to Boyce, the Wildcats also have athletic guards [player_tooltip player_id='1765906' first='Hunter' last='Iverson'], [player_tooltip player_id='2468405' first='Amari' last='Hinds'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2327731' first='Jakhai' last='Jones'] who will all likely starters. [player_tooltip player_id='2877353' first='Malachai' last='Dorsey'] will be asked to rebound and defend, and there are likely a few other pieces that they'll have to help them contend for the conference title. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>2. Valley -</em></strong> Valley has a roster filled with athletic players and many of them got varsity playing time last season. Considering their experience and potential, they seem like a team to watch for in the Lake League. [player_tooltip player_id='2374209' first='Van' last='Graves'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2883875' first='Deandre' last='Speed Jr.'] may make up their backcourt, and they also have 2028 "big guard" [player_tooltip player_id='2412305' first='Nick' last='Odum'] who may handle the rock and facilitate a bit. Breakout candidate, Jaelen Speaks, might also make some noise with his high flying abilities and [player_tooltip player_id='1965161' first='Khai' last='Ewell'] has some defending ability. It also appears that the "V' game between Valley and Las Vegas should be another good one. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>3. Mater East Academy - </em></strong>Mater East Academy lost a good deal of their roster to graduation after winning the 3A State Title. However they do return [player_tooltip player_id='2221829' first='Kwes' last='Young'], [player_tooltip player_id='2637192' first='Markus' last='Burton'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2819169' first='Keyone' last='Wilkerson']. While they will be much younger than last season, they should be able to play at a fast pace. As each of those players named above can get downhill rather quickly. If the Knights can find some other role players to contribute, they will likely be able to put together a good first season in 4A. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
