was dominant on Saturday thanks to his touch and assertiveness. He hit tough contested shots in the paint and got out in transition. Making it look easy at times, despite being an underclassmen. He also utilized his frame and length to cause some chaos on the defensive end.

was a force out there at the Bigfoot Hoops Easter Showdown. The powerful forward bullied his matchup in the paint often and drew contact on a number of his finishes. McKinney also crashed the boards on a regular basis and made his opponent uncomfortable on the defensive end with his physicality and length. Overall, it was a strong showing from him, and I also caught a highlight of him dunking over somebody.

lands at #8 in the update. He can be a force when he uses his frame, size, and vertical. If he wants to score, he can bully defenders by backing them down, and his long strides help him get to the cup on drives. Defensively, he is physical and will make his matchup think twice about attacking him, as he’s capable of swatting shots into the crowd. He also uses his bounce to come down with rebounds.

is in the #7 spot in the latest rankings update. He already has a physical frame that few freshmen can match, allowing him to attack defenders in the paint with confidence. He’s also capable of throwing down powerful dunks when he gets a full head of steam. Defensively, McKinney can swing momentum with emphatic blocks and consistently battles on the glass. With plenty of time still to develop, expect him to make even more noise moving forward.

offers a ton of versatility on defense due to his size and strength. He has quite the wingspan and is built like a linebacker. He also has a decent vertical, which helps him swat shots. McKinney uses his leaping abilities on offense as well, and can throw down dunks with authority. Although it was looking like he might play prep, he has made the decision to attend Valley High School.

Joey McKinney is an intriguing prospect due to his size and athleticism. He stands at 6’3 and knows how to leverage his size on both ends of the court. On offense, he likes to get downhill and he often finishes tough shots through contact. McKinney can also throw down a slam dunk if given the opportunity. On the other end of the court, he can defend the rim and is capable of affecting his opponents shots with his wingspan.
