He can get downhill when he turns on the afterburners and finish through contact. He also hits his teammates with solid passes when advancing the ball up the court. Defensively, he’s the type of player who makes his matchup work to gain ground.

His burst and shiftiness allowed him to skirt around defenders, leading to several strong takes to the rim. Those drives also earned him trips to the free throw line, where he converted six attempts. On the defensive end, Wilkerson pestered opponents with his lateral quickness and did a good job of keeping his man in front of him.

He used his shiftiness and aggressive mindset to generate offense, and his motor stood out on the defensive end as he flew around making plays. While the Knights didn’t come away with the win, Wilkerson continues to impress.

He can also carve up the defense a bit himself and he appears to be even more athletic out there. As a defender, he’s a pest and can swipe the ball away.

He has some acceleration skills, but knows how to play with pace. When you watch him play, you also notice that he has a good feel for where his teammates are going to be. And he uses his lateral quickness on defense to frustrate opponents.

Keyone Wilkerson Keyone Wilkerson 5'10" | PG Mater East | 2028 State NV is a bit of a sleeper in the class of 2028, but he has a ton of skill and athleticism for a point guard. He can accelerate in the blink of an eye and not many defenders can keep up with him when he really punches it. Speaking of punching it, the 5’9 guard is also a high flyer and is capable of throwing down a dunk if he gets out in transition. On the other end of the court, Wilkerson poses problems for the man he’s guarding with his active hands and lateral quickness.

I’m also a fan of how he decelerates at times when his opponent is overplaying him. As a defender, his athleticism and hustle help him make plays. He can jump up and snag a steal, and he’s willing to dive on the ground if needed. Look for Wilkerson to be a contributor on varsity team next year.
